Thanks to the likes of Ford and other early automotive companies, the United States has like an average of 3 cars per home. Prices of automobiles in Europe and Asia are much higher than here due to the balance of supply and demand. A $25,000 US Honda Civic would cost around $40,000 US in most parts of Asia.

Assuming the pricing difference is the same in Australia, then RRP would be about:

G: 2.41 M Yen => 39990x2.41/3 = $32,125 AUD
GT: 2.79M Yen => 39990x2.79/3 = $37,191 AUD
GT Limited: 2.97M => 39990x2.97/3 = $39,590 AUD

There really is no competition to this car. One reason why the pricing will never be that low in Europe. It's only going to be low ($22.5k) in the USA because of scion.

In Europe exists a category of car which includes the Golf GTI and also other cars like the Renault Megane RS, Ford Focus RS... These cars are all FWD but also are able to beat reknowned cars like Ferrari 360 Modena, Diablo SV, Viper GTS, C63 AMG, ect... on a Nurburgring lap.

If GT86 reaches a similar price as this kind of car, I doubt that sport drivers will choose the Toy'
