@Deslock

Sadly, that time won't be valid. From the pic, I can see you had your course line thing on. iirc you can't have course line on

It's too bad because I was just over a second behind you on one of them

Anyway, my new time (racing against my own previous best ghost replay):

Deslock - 2:31.547 - G27
No problem, glad it helped! About GT5 crashing... I don't know why it's doing that since I've never tried anyone else's ghost replay. I could try uploading it again if you want.

Nah, don't bother. I'm guessing GT5 doesn't like it when you race against another person's ghost replay.

Oh I thought racing line was allowed. Is everyone racing without the line? My settings:
ABS = 1
Racing Line = ON
Grip = Real
TC = OFF
All other aids off
No mods
No tuning
Oil changes allowed
Merlin2111, can you clarify this? If racing line isn't allowed, then my other times need to be removed from the list because I used the line for all of them.

Either way, I'll try racing without the line this weekend.

Since it is basically no driving aids except ABS set to 1 I would expect driving line is not allowed. It is a form of driving aid.
It can be easier to TA with it if you have no clue how the track is, because you can use it for reference for braking points for example. Fine tuning how late you can brake by looking at the lines and learning exactly when to brake based on them.

When that is said, I do not recommend it anyway. I, and I think most drivers will learn a track faster if focusing on learning the track by looking at the road surface, the scenery and focusing more on apexes. Not focusing on some magic fantasy lines appearing on the track.
The moment you take away the lines you might loose some of your skills. Because you have focused your driving on them, not the track. At least that is what I have experienced and seen on some people.
Also, driving line is not perfect. You can probably be faster without using it as a guide for the best driving line.
I have only heard of a couple very fast guys using it. Mainly for optimizing braking points since some find it easier knock of 0,01 seconds at some braking points. But those guys are already "alien fast" without the lines. And I would guess 99% of the top 10% fastest GT5 drivers never use them.

Personally, I would never consider putting it on. But would not care if people used TC (not allowed here), automatic transmission or driving line.
When all that is said, I would consider your laps valid, because there is no place on the list of rules that says driving line is not allowed.

I'm not using it, but I don't see the harm in using it. It's more of a distraction to me than anything.

Also, since the other ghost glitched or something, I've attached another one. This time I managed a 2:29.553. If it still does the same thing, then maybe it's just a bug

Ah, that's a little better. Improved to 2:32.551, still using G25 with paddles. Was checking out my car and realized I hadn't gotten an oil change done since I got it, and I've been driving it a LOT, that helped me improve a little bit.

You can use the driving line to learn the course but you can not use it for your hot lap.

I dunno if something weird happened when you saved or exported your 2:29.789 ghost replay, or when I imported your 2:29.789 ghost replay, but FYI GT5 doesn't crash when I race against your 2:29.553 ghost replay.

Well at least it's working now, so that's good. Hopefully the replay helps you figure out a line to use. Or at least some corner and exit speeds.

You can't watch it on your mac or pc, you have to take the files that are in the zip file and import them into your ps3. Then you can watch the replay in gt5 and even race against the ghost.
