haha thanks man! I can't really say 100% that it's normal, but from what I remember, it was a very loud sound and just sounded like something grinding. The thread locker wouldn't make a difference IMHO since you did add it.

I don't think it would be gears vibrating misaligned.

Get the fluid changed ASAP though, it will eat the synchros.
