Which class you're gonna run? I think I'm gonna get back to autox next season, currently looking to pickup some light 17x7 rims

I want to stay in (what used to be SCCA's) RTR class. I think it's C Stock now for our cars. I'm still very new to autox so I want to stay at least somewhat competitive. Going to get get some good tires (and a set of wheels to go with them) and some good brake pads and go from there.

If you do end up going with an 8" wheel the +35 will not stick out. My 17x8's are +42 and sit pretty far inboard of the fender. That's with 235/40's as well.

Doesn't RTR require stock wheel width?

It does. I've decided to look for some other wheels. I want to stay in RTR next year.

A side note, in case anyone missed it, Next year, RTR becomes Stock class. The BRZ/FRS is in C Stock. The Wheel rules were altered so we are allowed +/- 1in in wheel diameter and +/- 6(?)mm in offset from oem specs.

I run nitto nt05 in a 235 and they do pretty well but they are more of a track tire because they take a lot to get warmed up.

Yeap, it's 1/4inch, rounded.
Sadly there's very little out there in 17x7 +42 weighting less than 16-17lbs besides Tirerack's RPF1's, which I'm not a fan of.

This thread is feeling a little dead. Here's a photo to brighten it up!
Last photo from before I put it away for the winter.

This is why I don't like buying stuff from individuals. I'm trying to buy a set of wheels for my BRZ but the guy has apparently started to ignore my PM's once I asked how he wanted me to send payment.

Installed mudguards this weekend.
Learned two things:
1.) I really want a heated garage
2.) I'm too old and worn out to be scrabbling around a garage floor in freezing temperatures

So today was my first drive on stock tires in the snow. Who else here needs winter tires?

I'm searching craigslist and forums for take off oem subie wheels.

Just bought my tune for the ST to give it another ~40hp and to customize the torque I am getting per gear to get a little bit better power delivery to the road. I am already looking because that is what I do for 2015 though. Keep in mind I am keeping this ST for two years before I move on at least.

My short list of cars to look at for the future:
1. Used BMW M3, If anyone has good recommendations on good years for these. I am willing to spend like mid 20k for one. Maybe slightly more if it is something special.
2. 2015 BRZ if their power jump is good and if their ride/interior improve some to pacify the wife.
3. New Mustang, this might change though because I am reading a few lengthy reviews on it today while I am on the plane. I want to see what they have done to alleviate it straight line or die driving style.

Feel free to leave me some comments. Stuck in airport for another 2 hours because I fly out. Got to love the weather.

I've never been a Ford fan (other than the Ford GT of course), but I like the new Mustang. If they made it handle anywhere close to the BRZ I might be interested.

In other news.. I miss my BRZ already. I think I've had it in the garage for a month now (just under) and I already miss driving it.

I bought a shift ball for it. At some point I need to decide what exhaust I want to run next year. The next thing may be a tune.. I'm still not sure I fully trust the motor, so I have to decide if I want to risk voiding the warranty. Especially if they are talking about a power bump for 2015 models.. maybe I'll just leave my motor stock (other than intake filter and exhaust) and wait for a trade in on a 2015 model..

By the way.. found this deal online.. I'm really tempted to try this:
$199 for 6 laps on an oval track in a stock car.
