Were you pulling your e brake when you were drifting out of a corner? I have never had a use of an e brake while driving.

DRL's save lives believe it or not, a lot of people with eye problems can't see moving cars sometimes which is where the lights come in...tons of reasons to leave em on.

No, I was stopped in traffic uphill at a red light. German cars can have some pretty heavy clutch pedals. If I was drifting on the street like a moron, I've got other things to worry about than my lights.

Even today, I will use the handbrake on a hill start, especially if I have someone right behind me on a steep hill, so I give them the courtesy of not rolling back into them, even though they won't give me the courtesy themselves.

Also, if you're trying to discreetly slow down at highway speeds without nose dive and making it obvious to the cop hiding in the median, it helps that they're off. Otherwise, you're drawing attention to yourself by turning your lights off and on.

Don't mean to thread jack, but would like to know how you got the software to work on a 64-bit machine?

Dealer I bought mine from this afternoon did the DRL, headlight off delay, and seatbelt chime off for free...took about 15 minutes while I signed the paperwork for the car.

I was not asked to sign anything in regards to deleting these things, but would have if
asked.

Because I am more than capable of determining when to turn on my lights. I don't need to be forced.

You asked, I answered. Remember, on the internet you can't discern a persons tone in many cases, that's what emoticons are for. So...stick this guy at the bottom of my previous answer:

I live in an apartment. When I pull into my parking spot, the lights shine into my neighbors bedroom window. So I turn off my lights at night when I pull in.

When I plugged the cable in, Win 7 automatically installed it as a Com 1. I ran the installer and ran Techstream. Click on Setup, VM Select, and pull down "J2534 - Mangoose Pro". It fired right up.

Thanks for the explanation. I've seen a bunch of people have issues with getting techstream to work on 94-bit versions of windows, but I'm glad it worked for you.

Do the seatbelt up. No one has to be in the seat just click it in.

There may be different cables and different versions of the drivers out there. Mine did not work on Win7-64bit, I tried every trick in the book and then some. I finally installed on some old laptop I had lying around with XP on it.

My drls are never on because I drive with my headlights on all the time, I wish the gauges were backlit with the headlights off because you can hardly see them during the day.

The seatbelt chime is annoying when I've got my dog riding shotgun.
