Greetings

Hi everyone!

New user. Been reading for a short while, only just started posting because I couldn't before, not sure why.

I'm in Cape Town and waiting on my GT86, should be coming in April.

I've started a journal here in case anyone is interested.

This will be my first FR car, so it's going to be fun. Not going to go crazy, just some styling mods, probably.

Looking forward to getting the car, having some good times and chatting to all of you!

Cheers.

Yeah, I've been a Honda fan for a long time. Had a CRX and a Ballade before. Also a CBR600F4i before, and currently a VFR800 in the motorcycle department. Getting rid of most of those now to get the 86.

Honda has kind of been declining for a while now. They almost tempted me with the CRZ if only it was more sporty and less green or alternatively much cheaper. It had 'low coupe', but otherwise it didn't check any of the boxes I needed checked.

I got the Civic right when they came out, so even though she still drives nice, the time has come for that itch to strike again. And in my opinion, it couldn't have come at a better time. I shudder to think what I would buy if the 86 wasn't an option.

Yeah, I already do. When I took it for a test drive I had the lady from the dealership squealing in the passenger seat saying: "I don't like this!" I don't even think I was going very fast, it's just that Toyota typically sells 'other cars' so she probably isn't used to young windgat outjies trying to get some squeal out of the tires, not the passenger.

Incidentally, does anyone in Cape Town have a High Spec with all the TRD parts? I would love to see one in person.

There's a Dark Grey with the TRD rear spoiler and quad exhausts. No front or side spoilers.
There's also a white one with the full TRD kit & exhausts.
Don't know them personally but I've heard people speak of them.

OK, well maybe in future once I have mine (which should be white with all TRD spoilers, diffuser and exhaust) people can look at mine if they need a reference. I'm pretty sure I'll like it. Though, I'm not a huge fan of the price.
