Thanks. Pobst is fast, no doubt. Real rubber would be cheating, haha. If I can find some way to get down to 1:53, I'd be proud to say I'm 2 seconds slower than him. LOL

All in all, I feel that driving style has really evolved my driving.
That happens to be my style. I'm more of a slow in, fast out guy. Too slow in many times, though.

You do this on your video, but Pobst just does this to a much more extreme degree.

I'd be more than happy to do some free data analysis for you and give you some feedback on where I think you can get faster.

That AIM render on the lower right looks suspiciously like a IQ3...
That is GREAT information to know, Thanks!

The AiM dashboard is from trackvision. My logger is AiM, but it is the solo DL.

I'd LOVE to take you up on the data analysis offer. I'd like to learn anything I can. Do you use racestudio2? I can email you my logs

My style translates to a fast in, fast out driving style.

I use a Solo DL when I'm doing freelance coaching/data analysis, unless the client already has a data acquisition of their own and/or they prefer to use something else. A surprising amount prefer Harry's Lap Timer with external GPS, since it'll render its own video.

mike @t counterspacegarage d0t com

Since it seems you have video rendered, send me a link to your best lap (if you have it recorded) with the overlays, and possibly edit together a lap of "theoretical best" turns... :p

HLT is ok, but it can't hold a light next to Solo DL and racestudio2.

Unfortunately, the cameras weren't running during my best session, so I don't have video overlays. The gopro wifi remotes have gremlins in them. Needless to say I'm not happy with the way they performed for me that day. I can only get you the AiM datalogs of my best laps....

I'll email them to you when I get home later today. Thanks again!

I only have Racepak data from MRLS, since I've only been there twice, but based on your video and the log you send me, I think I can figure out where Randy picked up the time. Usually, I'm able to get faster than him (albeit, with a lot more seat time in the car/model in question), so there's room

Hey @orthojoe Good seeing you last saturday! I was the drive in the other FRS and we were in the same group, too bad I don't get to see you too often on the track given how slow my car is.

My best time is around 1"53 - 54 but I had Dunloop z2 on them.

Hey, man! I was wondering if the owner of that white FRS was on this forum. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to cross paths on the track and off the track. You weren't by your car when I stopped by between sessions, and I never got a chance to line up next to you at the grid. Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up next time. I'll be taking the BRZ to Sonoma Raceway on March 25th with TMR again.

I don't see that event on this site:
http://findatrackday.com/

What is TMR. Trackmasters? Maybe i'll join you guys there. I've always wanted to drive Infineon.

I usually have a thread going in the Norcal section to try and coordinate track days (please post your days there if you can so we can all meet up and have some fun):

Yup. TMR is trackmasters. www.trackmasters-racing.com
Good organization. I usually run with NCRC, TMR, and HOD.

I'll post up my schedule on your thread. I've got my whole track day year planned out, including which car I'm driving. LOL. I'll also be at Thill on April 19th with HOD, but I will be driving the spyder that day.

If you haven't done infineon/sears point/sonoma raceway, you need to. The most technical and fun track, IMO. The only issue is that I'm not as comfortable driving at the limits due to the walls there.

Laguna is such a great track I think I was spoiled by getting to ride along with Robispec on my first track day there gave me a good benchmark for how I should attack the corners there. Do you mind if I ask what gears you were primarily using? I use 3rd and 4th primarily only downshifting to 2nd for turn #11 coming out of turn #5 I up shift to 4th and don't drop back to 3rd till 7a or the "corkscrew". I used to shift more but the instructor advised againt shifting unessarily. I'm able to carry quite a bit of speed into the corners by lightly using the brakes lightly just to shift the weight forward I also like to trail brake it a bit to start the slide into the corner. What pads are you running? My hawk hp+ held up fine even with a passenger although he is a skinny little fucker.

-Mike

Ps stock tires suck I chunked the shit outta my fronts the first time out.

Nm the gears part should have watched the vid first lol. Get some real tires some much more fun some front camber would help too I ran whiteline camber bolts both times hoping to have the tic camber plates for my next track day.

I'd actually be using 2nd in turn 2.... it requires an upshift mid-corner, but I supeculate is faster.

I go annually in June... I suspect CSG will be taking a S2k and BRZ this year...
