Thanks for the picture. We did not get to take any this time.
I meant to come and say hi to ya. There were just so many people to talk to and so little time.
We had a blast for our first time at t hill.

I think in a couple of years we may see as many 86's as we do Miatas

I usually camp if I go to Laguna Seca, but if you want a place to stay, I like the Howard Johnson inn in nearby Salinas. The hotels towards Monterey are just way too expensive.

Powder coated Traklite Angle.

They did not have a matching color set for the size we wanted. And my girl was set on the design.

I actually heard about that after I had them coated. But before we had them done, we talked to a client at the shop with a lotus that traced his car regularly. At the time I asked how it held up concerning getting chipped or something. He said he had been tracking for a couple of years without problems.

I wonder how much has to do with the quality of the rim to begin with.

I've heard it theorized that wheels run into trouble when powder coaters let their ovens get to hot during the coating process.

I will say that I know a Porsche 911 owner who had his OEM wheels crack after a powder coating. Car wasn't tracked/abused and operated under everyday driving conditions.

From what I've read, it appears that some wheels handle powder coating better than others. There are plenty of reports of broken wheels shortly after the process, but also plenty of people doing just fine. I would contact the wheel manufacturer and see what they say. Many wheel manufacturers powder coat in house. Personally, I think all wheels should be dark grey to hide the brake dust.
