I just registered for this Friday (7/12) with NCRC at Thunderhill. First time out with the BRZ so I'll be using a pyrometer and trying to get a feel for the car.

I had the day off already and couldn't wait until September; I'll try to get four sessions in and leave around ~1:30pm (before it gets really hot).

hmmm I have Friday free as well... now I'm tempted to go out and join you!! But I'm taking my BRZ in tomorrow for the oil leak and not 100% the car will be ready to go after that. Should be, but I could also just sign up with the MR2 instead.

Come out and play @PMok. Weather.com is showing a high of 94 degrees for Friday which isn't too bad for Willows in July.

If the BRZ isn't ready, and you bring the MR2, keep in mind that NCRC does the broomstick test.

LOL yeah I heard it actually saved someone's life recently at a NCRC event.

I'm a little too lazy to actually do the test, but based on past pics (nothing has changed in the car and I doubt I'm any taller), I'd pass don't you think?

urrr... well I do have a new helmet though. Damn. I think I will have to actually do the test now. But most likely I'd take the BRZ... stay tuned.

OK, I signed up for same day. I'll be in solo because I like sandbagging and passing all the other novices haha. j/k i will be taking it easy and learning the course, never done the bypass variant before.

it's certainly a challenging turn at least for a newbie or a rusty driver like me. Feel like it's a repeat of turn 3 though.

Good times today, thanks @kster1 for letting me ride along with you and also for riding with me and giving me pointers. Love this track and still have a lot to learn, and a lot of things to practice.

Met another 2 guys in white FR-S's and encouraged them to join us on here more often.

It was great hanging out with you yesterday @PMok. It turned out to be a very pleasant day that didn't feel that hot (for Willows in July). There also seemed to be less total cars there for an NCRC track day.

With all the talk of direct injection problems from track going members and the worst case scenario engine failure of @CSG Mike, i'm probably going to pass on track events until Toyota acknowledges the issue and takes action.

The talk might be overblown and possibly already corrected by a better tune in cars manuf'd > 1/13 but I'm thinking better safe than sorry at this point. For the immediate future, my s2000 will be getting all the track time.

86DRIVE does a track day with NCRC!
A number of us have signed up for the second Solo group for Nov 3rd at Laguna Seca. The first Solo group already filled up so they created a 2nd group due to popularity. This is the cheapest that I've seen a track day at Laguna Seca go for. Looks like it might be discounted based on how many sessions we get. So get to registering! http://www.ncracing.org/events.php

92db limit day.
