I hate any leather on my car seats. Premium seats all the way!

The bolsters are leather, yes, but you don't even notice it while sitting in the seats, it never gets very hot or very cold. The Alcantara covers the majority of the seat and has the same heating/cooling qualities of fabric,
That would be because it IS fabric. Alcantara is just one more interesting thing the world of chemistry can do with polyester. Isn't it amazing how upmarket a fancy name can take something.

One, leather seats, when driving in the cold months, require, or a preference for, electric heating. With fabric the 'coldness' isn't so dominant. Also adds some, if not minimal, weight and additional 'stuff".

Two, In warmer months, fabric seats have a cooling effect whereas leather does not absorb the body moisture as much. (try wearing a leather long-sleeved shirt in the summertime).

Three, the fabric, as has been mentioned, 'holds' one better when turning.

Granted, the Alcantara, has fabric features, but looks and wears cheap to me but the BRZ fabric has that rougher, and more perceived 'tougher', more durable, appearance and texture.

Side note: Although the push-button start seems like a nice feature in the Limited vehicle, I have, in effect, opted out on all the 'computerized idiosyncrasies' that has been complained about so many times in this forum.

all the people saying that they hate leather haven't sat in the Limited seat then

its not smooth leather like a Lexus or something and it doesn't get hot/cold in the summer/winter

Entirely. Sticker price on my Premium, being it was equipped with a spoiler, side chrome, fogs, antiglare/compass rearview, and rear difuser, was about the same as a Limited, anyway. I paid a bit below that, but still, my decision had nothing to do with money. This no doubt will open me up to, "Dude, are you crazy?! For a few hundred more you could have gotten the Limited that came with all of that stuff, already!", but I just didn't want/need it.

And I know exactly what Alacantara is. I looked/touched the seats in Limited they had on the lot. I just don't like that feeling. Also, I really need a key and an ignition to be as close to the stearing column as possible. Call me old fashioned!

Anyway, I think we could probably /thread with this:

Some people don't give a shit.
Now you got me thinking theres some poor dude out there who constantly wears out all the materials he touches. All his clothes are rags and no one will let him sit in their cars.

I agree. Leather is hot in the Summer, cold in the Winter, and creases like crazy. In an area that's cold leather seats need to be heated. With cloth it's a luxury, but not a necessity.

Besides, cheaper cars don't get the 'good' top grain leather anyway.

The Alcantara seats of the Limited don't necessarily have all the downsides listed above, but the bolsters do.

Same here.. I got the options I wanted added on, the rear spoiler & anti-glare/compass review mirror, and it was almost as much as the Limited.. But i HATE auto-climate controls, and I don't care for the push-start or leather/fake-leather stuff.. Yes, I test drove both Limited & Premium models.. Premium all the way!

Limited guys won't need to carry a lint brush in the glove box, at least. The bolsters on the Premiums are gonna be a big fat trap for dust, lint, and my wife's hair!

I test drove both the Premium and the Limited, and can afford both. (The price difference isn't really that much...)

I chose the Premium because of (in this order): No spoiler, no keyless entry/start, and the cloth seats.

The cloth seats felt better, IMO looked better, and simply felt like they would hold up better in the long term. I'm sure I could be wrong on the durability, but it was my takeaway from interacting with the material. Plus, the Limited has a bit of extra weight in it due to all the additional creature comforts.

I bought a small, cheap sports car. I didn't feel that the Alcantara inserts added anything to the experience. That's my preference - you're free to have yours.

I've sat in a Limited and was a bit disappointed with the leather/alcantara seats. The leather felt kind of thin imo. I do like how they look and hold you in the seat so I'm fine with both the limited or premium seat.

I think Subaru should have differentiated the seats with a different style making the Limited more appealing over the Premium. Like RS5 style seats...
