It should follow this graph provided by Perrin previously.

We'll try to measure ours at a later time. Perhaps when the pulley comes in we'll compare boost on the stock pulley vs upgrade.

Sorry I cant share more, we need to wait til Vortech is ready to release more information!

Based on my build, however, it is possible run over 9psi psi with a Vortech setup.
I will see what i can do about getting a picture of a boost gauge hooked up..

as other vendors seem to be struggling to get their Version 1 out the door, Vortech is clearly on top of their game plan, so lets see what they release
Thats all I got.

Ok, I'm on my way to texas to meet your shop helper, or model or whatever is going on in there youre my new tuner, it seems...
And I go back to waiting...

Thanks for posting this. It gives me some hope.

I do understand that these kits are just base kits. But 225whp seems... disappointing. I'd like to see this kit break 280whp on pump gas with other mods, on a dynojet. I don't wanna be Debby Downer, but 225whp is borderline embarrassing.

For nearly 6k invested I expect more. I was pretty much sold on this Vortech kit, but this sets me back a bit. I do appreciate the dynos though, and I'd like more perspective and reviews on the driving experience. I just can't help but want more from this setup for the price.

Phastek,

Thank you for this thread. It's exactly the kind of data I was looking for.

You're welcome. This kit changes the driving experience from impossible to get a speeding ticket just entering the highway to very possible.

Ask me how I know. Just learned that it had this ability.

I mentioned before that the smaller pulley with new map will be run on the dyno soon so feel free to stay around for more data.

Plus when we run it on the track with these vehicles (next Thurs)... Maybe I'll have more feedback to give along with GoPro footage.

First a few clarifications.
+ The kit isn't 6000. It can be had around $4300 American

I'll agree with anyone that 225whp isn't the greatest in the world and there can be more. Perrin stated themselves that there is still some power on the table.

This is my only car which I daily drive. I knew what more power entails, and the motto "You have to pay to play" comes in.

That aside my top priority was to add power reliably. Perrin's turns the tune back some to make sure that the tune works for everybody in all climates. Combine that with the fact the blower is self contained and the main failure point in this SC kit is the belt, it fit the bill for me quite nicely. It's something that I feel comfortable maintaining myself (other than having to rebuild the blower eventually)

Everybody has different goals and I respect that. The gains from the kit fit my style of driving and the other mods I put on the car quite well.

197 lbf of torque coming in at around 4K RPM for AVO is not similar power to 177 lbf from Vortech's kit coming in at around 6.5K RPM. (All numbers rounded, not exact). On raw max numbers only, AVO is around +60 whp +47 wtq, while this kit is around +50 whp +25 wtq.

Also, AVO's Stg 1 numbers are with stock exhaust.

Not trying to start a pissing match, I believe this SC kit is a good option for anyone looking for that linear power delivery climbing up to red line. But power wise no, it does not make similar power to AVO's Stg 1 kit.

Not trying to either @Sportsguy83. I took it out of the post. Only said that because Perrin said there is still some left on the table. Granted I don't think they left out 197 torque

From the reliability perspective... Have we found the limit of the stock gearbox, shorterm and longterm?

If we haven't (I haven't seen any official data yet) then adding a modest amount of power with the information known perhaps is more prudent when it comes to the longevity of the gearbox/clutch.

There won't be official data about this until someone breaks it. The only information out there is that none of the 400+ whp 300+ wtq kits have broken it yet. (Accelerated performance broke a shift fork but it was because it went airborne and at red line and as it landed it put a good amount of shearing force in it, not because it broke shifting).

@Sportsguy83. We are up early

I'm seeing that too and that's good. Just not too sure if it can handle 100k miles. I think its safe to say some of these kits get tested 5-10k miles before going on sale . On the track nonetheless but we aren't sure what that means longterm.

Since I'm not rich enough to own two cars (however ironically I can pour money into this one LOL) I need my car to never fail me.

It is probably okay though; mentally for now I feel better with lower numbers until we can get some long term feedback from people with FI
