Unfortunately, we're not a car magazine that has the resources to do controlled reviews.

This is just putting information that is available to us online.

I'm not surprised if there is a lot of good info out there that is held back for reasons like this. Many users become lurkers because of the response they are worried they will receive from other users.

I for one do not care. Good or bad, I'll put it out. Take it for a grain of salt or take it into consideration. All up to you.

@Chris@Phasetek, I'm just checking out the dyno graphs now. Why do they all appear to have knock correction high up? The stock graphs all look smooth, and all the Vortech ones look very bumpy. Are you using "canned" tunes or doing the tunes @ Phasetek?

Also, your dyno appears very generous. The stock runs were 177, 177, and 169. --Edit, NVM I see these all had exhausts, which is typical power.

Great to see some final consistent results. Seems 225/170 is what most people should expect with this kit. That's in line with the 12% difference between dynapacks (Perrin's 250whp) and dynojets.

None of those were from completely stock vehicles. The tunes are Perrin's. This thread is for those purchasing a Perrin Tuned Vortech kit. They are canned tunes.

We can publish it with lower smoothing if this makes some happy.

EDIT:

Below is from when the vehicle was stock. 170hp and 140tq seems at sea level seems reasonable.

85.7 degrees when we first dynoed the vehicle
67.1 degrees for run with the supercharger

Yea, I'd be a bit concerned about all that correction going on up high. What was the ambient temp?

Damn Chris, I just realized looking at your chart here that the torque dip is completely gone for your car. I still have a small dip in my chart and so does F1point4.

Oh great....I guess I'll just hang on to mine. You know, in case one of you guys wants to drive it so you can remember what the torque dip was like.

J/K, I want to get some headers too, but I will probably wait till next year. I'll go with P&L

Just FYI also, its under SAE correction, which means ambient temp does not matter. If it was uncorrected then ambient temps would matter.

Avid car enthusiast Princeton Wong covered our install on his blog VicariousGear! Check out his thoughts on the link after the break!

....My short trip back to Houston just happened to coincide with the arrival of the first couple Vortech Supercharger kits for the ZN6/ZC6 platforms. Being an early adopter, my cousin Victor invited me out to Phastek Performance to check out the pieces and help with the wrenching. Being a grease monkey at heart combined with my love of new tech, I couldn’t resist. It is always great to see how different garages are set up as well. I arrived at Phastek in the middle of the first install which was moving slowly but surely. Things were being double and triple checked since these were some of the initial test kits. A few pieces appeared to have overly tight tolerances to moving belts but everything worked out in the end.....
