As long as the functionality and integrity of the seat are still intact there won't be an issue... Changing the bracket height to ensure the safety of the driver won't dictate whether the vehicle will be changed onto a different class unless it is stated in the bylaws that any alteration will move you to a different class. And in that case you can argue that if someone has changed the air filter, tires, tire pressure, spark plug gaps, or anything like that should also change them into a different class as well... I have dealt with people trying to throw the book at me for my 66 Pontiac Tempest when I'm drag racing... But the fact is there is always a way to show that its for the safety of the driver and has no change to the car in an advantage standpoint... I hope this helps.

Have you ever been involved with SCCA Solo? Sticklers can argue anything if it means they can win. Im in the process of getting whole new wheels before someone protests my -1.6mm from allowance.

Sorry for the delay on the update. We tested the bracket at Willow Springs and they held up nicely. We will be running a few more test before the finial product is ready

Nice. I know the chance of this is low but any idea of this will interfere with whatever plugs the Limited model needs for heated seats?

I would be very interested in this. Do you have any pictures from the day you tested it?

This has to be the best thing I've come across on this board.
I'm 6'7 and actually have had to postpone weekends at the track because fitting with a helmet is simply not possible without bending my neck to one side. In a rollover my spine would be compressed instantly so it's a serious safety issue for me. ...but I daily drive the car and these are the best seats I've ever had so and I've been spoiled by them so I would really not want to spend thousands on seats that are of similar quality and comfort, and lose the integrated air bags and adjustability. I've even gone as far as questioning if I should sell and buy a different car to use as a daily driver/weekend racer largely because of this. The answer has always come back no, as nothing else in the price range offers me what the FR-S can, but it's bittersweet to want so badly to be able to participate but be physically unable to fit! I am 100% on board for a set of these as soon as possible! I don't even care about adjustability. I just want the seat as low as possible. @DA Motorsports please make these happen! I"m cash in hand |
