Not entirely sure what you mean. Proceeding on the route, it seems like this is the most logical way to get to Mines Rd.

Ya, I mentioned that earlier when I drove from Sac to Rutherford. Ended up just going through 128, just as nice of a road.

If you go on the big loop up and over Mt. Hamilton it's quite a bit longer drive then just running Mines into the Junction then turning back..hence the "entire day of driving"

Last I heard, the road from Mt. Hamilton down to the junction was a gravel shitshow due to the way they repaved it recently.

Yes, still happening.

Anyone can come, it's not exclusive to twins. Personally I'm not going to be driving "at the limit", but I still hope to keep a brisk pace.

Update: I hate to be a stickler but I generally start the drive right at 8. Don't like waiting around after the start time - more interested in getting on the road while it's empty.
