I prefere the BRZ in terms of looks, and I would leave the side vent as it is. I would like to put STI badge, if it had STI rims, suspension, steering wheel and other STI parts, but to say the truth I would not like this as I know it will not be a true STI, and what I want is a true STI, not for the badge but for what it is. For me it just feels wrong to stick STI, AMG and ///M badges on a car that isn't really one of those. Back on my choice, I think I am still going to get the GT86, as I feel in some way more connection to my dreamcar, the LFA. The surprising part concerning the 86 badge is that I may take it away and maybe put a TRD decale instead, note it will be a true TRD. Why get rid of the 86 badge? Because if I get an engine kit it will no more be 86x86.
And finally to those of the US, who would like the FR-S but don't lke the Scion badge, just get this car. You will have no problem swap the front and rear, four rim caps and steering wheel badge for a Toyota, if I am not mistaken, they have exactly the same shape and size. At the end everybody knows it is a Toyota with a Scion badge, so just convert it to what it is. If you want even more put a Lexus badge which has also the same shape and dimension. I am sure we'll see a "Lexus FR-L".

That gill vent plate thing looks totally interchangeable. Aftermarket companies are going to be releasing them in droves. I'm sure you'll be able to get one that you can attach the 86 badge onto. I say do it. Same car, same boxer engine. It's no different from the people that re-badge their North American Corolla GT-S to 'Trueno'. Some people think it's tacky, but screw those guys.

three pages about what badges you'll put on it.

i may just put a big "fatlace" sticker over the whole side grill, then i'll be cool, right?

I think its ok, besides its your car do what ever you want with it! For me I'm planning to debadge the FRS to a Japanes 86, front bumper modelista, center controls & other bits as long as they are oem Japan but not the steering wheel. I feel like I do not need to show heritage or pay homage to my old AE86 why cuz haveing a AE86 is not about badges fat lace hella flush or 1000 BHP, its about haven' fun track day, revving the f**k of it to the sky high let it sing for you & pushing it to its limits isn't that what tada advertise this car will be.

If I get the BRZ I'ma just debadge everything off it and get the 86 logo on for the steering wheel if possible. Clean look is a must!

I intend to switch it. I think the Subaru one looks like crap, and think the GT86 one looks great.

It's rice, but it still feeds into the car with the obvious Boxer layout and 86 which matches the bore and stroke. Now if it said "Toyota" above it, I wouldn't swap it. But with just the pistons/86 logo I think it looks a TON better than the BRZs.. especially if the BRZ Limited turns out to have the crappy chrome one (as seen on subaru.com) instead of the body color ones we've seen on the JDM cars.
