With the EJ20 motor's 75mm stroke, its mean piston speed at 8500 rpm is less than the FA20 motor at 7400 rpm. So probably less stress on the bottom end at higher revs (but pistons are bigger and maybe heavier so a little extra there).
Also keep in mind that the EJ20 has a longer rod ratio on top of the much larger piston.

The Spec C engines spun 8500 from the factory...

yup, it'll be happening and probably a bit more.

I hope BRZ STI will come with wider body panel front and back, it will be great for some of us need to run 265 tires or wider in auto x. I don't know if we can run that with stock fenders. also bigger brakes and some more hp will be nice. if STI is for the guys want to track the car, this top 3 will be the most important upgrade . I am hoping that we get BRZ STI.

I wouldn't be to sure of that. Coming from a Supra owner I've seen these things spun anywhere from 8500 to 9500 rev's. Obviously this is on fully built engines, most in race spec. Atomic Fabio revved his to 10500 all on Titanium internals years back with very little issues.

I can't really comment on boxers as I'm not that familiar with them. I've done a bit work on Porsche boxer engines and they seem to rev OK to 8k.

redline depends on so many things i dont understand why you guys are even trying to discuss it with such limited knowledge on this platform

and although i would LOVE the sti version to stay NA there are 2 main things that seem to indicate that will not be the case:
1) the orientation of the intake and exhaust manifolds seem to relentlessly suggest a front/bottom mount turbo setup like on the 2010+ legacys
2) the fact that the sti version will be the basis for a 300hp GT300 car. i dont see that car being NA...

additionally, the relative benefit of turbo in terms of power/weight seems to suit this car well, plus subaru's extensive experience and 'fondness' for them
