There are a few guys out there parting out BRZ' and FRS', try and contact them. I can only give so much information on hand. Try calling headquarters, they would be more knowledgable/more staffed to answer parts questions.

Oh no, I understand. You've been a great help. I was just stateing I couldn't find them so easily for people who would be looking for pricing. I'm going to try and talk to my parts guy at Subaru and see if he can get it.

I called my local Toyota Dealership Z with the part numbers you gave for Denso. They are clueless so I called Subaru and got there part numbers.
Whether having subaru part numers is going to help or not I am not sure, I am going to try to call another Toyota to see if I can get anymore information. Subaru part numbers: Blower Assembly 72223AJ030 Integ Unit Assembly 88281CA201 Climate Control Panel 72311EA061 Harness for panel-plugs into back of assembly the complete harness not just the two that plug into the back 81302CA360 The guy at Toyota says he is "waiting" and "thinks" Toyota will eventually release the parts and or what needs to be done to do the swap he says he just can not access anything or is not allowed to access any Toyota outside the US. He says they have had million's of calls wishes Toyota would say what needs to be done because it may be realitivley simple to get the panel to work. He says they would sell thousands as my question has been asked by every customer that has atpurchased an FRS- from that dealer ship I am going to make a few more calls and post up what I find out

I am trying to contact the Toyota is Sydney if I can make an internatiol phone call.....lol I dont even know what time it is over there.
For some reason my phone wont let me call international. Any Aussie members that have time maybe you could help us with getting the correct part numbers or the correct information we would need to make this happen. Seems like we are making progress just missing a few pieces to the puzzle. Dan

For some reason I cant make the call out....
I got the prices from subie though. The panel I am sure will be cheaper through Nigel or the other site where everyone is getting the black interior pieces The Blower assembly...which we may or may not need if we would find out if we can cross reference these parts Blower assembly from subie in Ohio $170.45 Integ unit assembley - still unknown if we would even need this $ 383.74 The complete climate control panel $ 475 Wiriring harness...the complete wiriring harness...not just the pieces we would need but to buy a complete wire harness that basically operates everything not just the climate control $ 876.00 The guy on the phone from Subie said again there are FRS owners that have contacted him, so he asked some of the guys in the service department and they said they do not believe you would need the complete harness. that you would just be able to slice the two pieces that plug into the back of the panel into the existiing harness that is in the FRS.. From the diagrams above (thank you for posting) it looks like everything is pretty much the same. Again non of this information is confirmed as far as the operation of the panel is concerned. The only thing I was able to get was subie part numbers and prices. They would not tell me who the manufactuer of the actual part is either. Toyota was the same. They said they used Desno I think is the name or Bosche but would not tell me for whatever reason who which manufactour they get the part from. When I asked him why he couldnt tell him he simply stated he was not allowed. All he would say is they get there parts from Manufactors mentioned in this thread and sell them as Toyota parts and same thing subie guy told me. Looks like they like to make things difficult for us. I dont know why they act like this information is top secret. He did however tell me that all FRS/BRZ/86 are built in the same factory. He would not confirm but stated that there is a actual fuse or something in the FRS for the heated seat option in other counties...scion does not offer this option however there is something in the car for that option..... I called village scion also with no answer left a voice message. I am gonna keep trying my best to get more info. Does anyone know of anyone currently that is parting out BRZ/FRS ? Maybe we should start a seperate thread somewhere for anyone parting out BRZ/FRS/86 if we could maybe purchase parts of maybe they would be willing to try to hook up the panel if we where able to provide one.

You are correct about the seat heater fuse in the FRS. I'm going to be installing my aftermarket kit hopefully this weekend and i was looking around and noticed the seat heater left and seat heater right on the fuse box cover on the interior and sure enough there are fuses in place. As seen also with the headlight swaps, the wiring seems to be more or less the same just put into different harnesses so it's just a matter of pulling the wires out and sticking them in the new harness in the correct place. The one thing about this particular mod though that i'm curious about is how the automatic climate control could work. Is there a thermostat somewhere or is it built into the dash piece?

The heated seats fuse location is awesome as it just confirms what the Toyota and subie guy told me. Toyota guy said all the FRS/86/ are built in same factory. So I would assume all options are there hence your heated seat fuses. I would assume they wouldnt stop the assembly line to remove all that climate control stuff if anything you would think they wouldnt even have the fuse labled for the heated seats.
Thats why i think the diagrams are the same. Its just a matter of us being able to get the Aussie part numbers for the parts we know of in US and being able to cross reference them. The guys I spoke with at subie and toyota both told me they couldnt tell me who manfactured the part but would only tell me they sell it as Toyota. Zman was able to confirm that Denso was the manufactor on two of his assemblys. Both subie and Toyota guy said that they both get parts from them but woudnt confirm just would acknowldge that it could be Denso or bosch ... sorry for the poor spelling....anyways I think its a matter of being able to get the part numbers cross referenced with the Aussie part numbers to confirm its the same part. Both guys just told me they where not allowed to tell me, and that they are not allowed to access or give out part numbers for the FRS/86/brz from other countries. I think we are making decent progress and as far as the stat goes it may be something in the ecu or something through the computer. I really have no idea but that would be my guess with the technology they have and the fact that the Subaru Rep did not mention a thermostat at all when I asked him to give me all of the part numbers for the dual climate control system. It was just the blower assembly, integ assembly the panel itself and harness. there are two plugs that plug into the rear of the dual climagte contorl and two that I believe plug into standard however pins and plugs are obviously not the same however operate in same fashion he said. I am going to keep calling around to different dealerships and hopefully I higt the lottery and get someone who knows what they are talkin about or a dealship that may have done one. I tried called the dealership in Sydney AUS today because that would be 100 perecent correct info on part numbers and be able to speak with one of there techs because I am sure they have a lot of knowledge on the system itself. My stupid phone just wouldnt let me make international phone call for some reason. I am to the point now where I may just buy a freaking calling card to make the call so we can get some concrete information instead of all these us dealers beating around the bush. anyways sorry for the long winded post, put up some pics of your install and maybe some pics of fuse location that proves to US dealers that these cars have options in them they are not making avail to us here in US put the pressure on them. take care Dan

So one thing I just want to let you know, Toyota USA's parts system does not allow them to pull up these parts nor give price. I have access to Toyota's parts system and I usually have to provide part numbers of JDM/Euro spec parts. Once it pulls up it gives a 0.00 price and will not allow them to order it. So I wouldn't really waste your time calling Toyota dealers in the US.
Most of the part numbers and diagrams I have provided all came from my local Subaru parts guy. He will look up anything if I ask, great dude. I peaked his interest a month ago when I posed this to him and we went to town looking up the differences in the BRZ premium (same as FRS) and the BRZ limited. All of the extra bits the limited has are harness and ECU related with the exception of small things like no sensors for the keyless entry/push start. What I concluded from all my research was Toyota and Subaru made them the exact same up until it was designated where that vehicle was going. Then they removed the extra pieces, and then parts of the harness and ECU so there weren't any errors or anything. My fog install proved this to me when we cross reference the BRZ wiring diagram (which shows both trim levels) that they didn't even change the connectors unless needed like the climate control. Only thing that we couldn't find or figure out is how the dual climate regulates the separate temps. This is what I believe is the key to it all. If we figure this out everything can be 100% swapped and 100% functional. |

If we can not how to figure out the sensor aspect of it for the different temps are we at the point where we could swap the panel and just run basic functions like heat, ac , defrost etc? To where is would show the same temps depending on how far we have the heat turned up or how cold we have the a/c. ?
Could we make it work with out the "dual" adjustment? I would be happy with having that. as long as they are blowing same temps I can deal with it not being ajustable from drivers side to passenger side. what do you think ?

I think there is a good shot we could hook it up without having dual function of the ac/heat and maintain basic control.

SCo can you ask your subie guy what we would need to make that happen. I PM nigel his price for the Panel. And maybe your subie guy can let us know what parts to buy in order for the panel to work and maintain the basic functions. I am more than willing to buy the parts and attempt it.?
