ANSWER: Agreed...Too much non-DIY stuff. When the lights go out no one will know what candles are for. (just a paraphrase)

The Subaru alarm system was originally only on the Subaru Limited model.

The 2013 "regular" FR-S models did not have the OEM alarm installed as I recall.

Subsequent "luxury models" may have the alarm. Apparently, the 2014 Monogram Series does have the alarm.

It's not like we are required to even activate the alarm. It's a nice option to have though.

Thanks for letting me know would've been nice if they added it

Is there a way to make the chime louder when using locking all the doors via fob or touching the sensor? Mine is super quiet, can't tell sometimes if it works.

The "Operation Buzzer Volume" is customizable from 0-7, with default value at 5. This may be what you're looking for.

See p. 437 in BRZ manual for having dealer change numerous customizable features.

Keep telling yourself that. I on the other hand am enjoying my keyless entry, HID light, and leather trimmed interior... sacrificing a couple of min to activate something I didn't even know I had, I'll take that as a plus.

If you ever get a chance to carve up a Thanksgiving turkey or ham at your next family gathering you may want to get this as well if you don't already have one. No effort or thought required. Just plug it in. Me? I just use a sharp normal carving knife and a little skill:

Using your example Limited owners have both to choose from.

Yikes Superman!!! We've got a $450,000 + home and there is just a basic on/off switch for our security system.

So credit is due to whoever actually discovered this:

If anyone has yet to be able to do it here are the steps:

1) Get in the car

2) press the start/stop button two times, with makes the car to be in the start position (all your dash lights light up)

3) Lock the car with the physical button on the door

4) Press the unlock button on the door and open the door while still pressing the unlock door button.

5) Still pressing the unlock button, wait about 10 seconds, the car will beep once for activated and twice for deactivated and the information panel in the cluster will say either "AL on" or "AL off"

This worked for me when I did it last night.

The one you manually move - not the button that controls it. Usually when you unlock a door from your door - you just push the unlock button which moves the actual lock. This wants you to manually move the lock itself (the red switch thing closest to the window)Does that makes sense? lol (it doesn't when I read it out loud)

So - step 3 - lock the car manually by moving the red knob/switch/tab [whatever you wanna call it] -
step 4 - then push the unlock button and keep it held while you open the door.

Hope this helps lol. I can take photos if you need more clarification.

let the guy be. You don't want to mess with a guy who has "skills" with a knife. Pretty sure he has bow hunting skills, nunchuck skills...
