It's been a hobby for the last 11 years of my life. HPDEs, Timetrials, autox, and drift practices will always be part of my life. I've just been out of the loop for the last 2.5 years.

For fun! I will use the next couple of years until the car is paid off and then I will retire it from daily driving, get something else and keep this as my track car when I know it doesnt matter that it doesnt come back in 1 piece I will be tempted to push it harder and maybe look into doing some competitions with it.

Rock chips are my proud battle scars, i love motorsports period!!

It all started when i had a power wheels as a child and got pissed when other kids would tie me in a race. My dad and i decided to get creative and modify the tires by using some long ass flat rubber bands to keep the tires from spinning and fixing up the little motor in the jeep. Man it was great i could now take turns at full speed and all the other kids on my block would be left in the dust. My passion for cars started developing more and more as i grew older, i remember seeing Ayrton Senna racing and dominating the F1 circuits. I really got a taste of motorsports when my uncle and dad took me to see a F1 race at SPA, man the smells the sounds just fueled me up. When we got back home i got my first kart at the age of 10 and started competing in my local track i won several events and got really pissed at the ones i did not win. Then came middle school and my grades started dropping since i was so focused on karting so i had to take a brake from it since my parents did not approve and sold my kart. High school was awesome when i first got my license i learned to drive in an old ram charger stick shift, i had that truck for a while and begged my parents to help me buy my own first car at the age of 16 a 2003 Seat Leon Cupra-R 1.8T Audi Engine 210HP 6 speed ( I grew up in Mexico). I started to get used to the car and attended various auto-x's and then came my first track day at the age of 17 man was it great i was hooked on cars right then and there. Its kind of been my addiction, i dont have any other vices but cars. I enjoy seeing nice cars on the street and track, i get off talking about car specs and history and anything related to motorsports and i have a huge collection of die cast model cars. So yeah im a car geek and i love it, would not have it any other way.

My goal is to continue to improve my driving technique and hopefully one day get to race for a team. I try at least two times a month to be at the track tearing it up, when i am not its probably because my track budget is spent and trust me when this happens i get in a pretty pissey mood.

Just for fun, as I'm too old and not wealthy enough to do it for a career!

I do it because I want to continuously improve my skills and enjoy my passion for cars.

I love the experience of driving a car fast and well. The interaction with the car as you probe its limits, learning the unique characteristics of the vehicle and the satisfaction of getting a track 'right' and seeing lap times drop when you get it right as well as the sheer sensation of speed.

Behind the wheel is also the only place where I feel truly free of all the BS in life.

That shot of pure adrenaline you get when doing competitive events is also quite compelling...and legal.

The challenge is doing all this while staying within my means. Reminds me of a Peter Egan quote: "Motor racing makes herion addiction feel like a vague longing for something salty."

Since I am in the military, I will never be able to achieve my motorsport goals. I do like to participate in Auto-X events though as it's the best way to get to know your car and make friends.

Plus I really do love the feeling when you see that lap time that just beat the field.
