im probably going with a 225/40/17 thinking about continental DW summer tires i hear good things. good tractin in wet and dry good tread life and they are roughly 120$ per tire which isnt bad.
There isn't even a street tire available in 225/40/17 is there? Maybe slicks or autocross tires, but this size is impossible as an option for DD cars.

Noise: A noticeable difference in loudness, but I am running catless header back into muffler delete, so I can't really hear the tires too much anyway.

Steering Response: Hard to say. I have pushed it hard at all. Also my alignment was pretty out of whack when I got my suspension parts put on a week ago that it felt so wonky. The increased performance on turn in and grip could be partly due to having a proper alignment.

Ride Quality: when I got the RCE springs put on, I noticed a significant increase in ride quality. When I got the tires put on, ride quality seemed to improve even more to me. This is so subjective though. It somehow feels smoother.

Grip Dry: Again, haven't really pushed it yet, but so far, a great improvement over stock. I have noticed that maybe, because of the stiffer sidewall, I can get it sideways a little easier when trying to really toss it into a slide.

Grip Wet: When I picked the car up, it was raining. I barely touched the gas pulling out of parking lot a traction control was going crazy. I was like WTF? Maybe its just cuz they're new or something. I had a close friend of mine remind me these tires like to be up to temperature before really gripping so again, kind of hard to say.

Overall really happy with my decision on these. Tire rack has a decent price on these in this size. Worth every penny. In fact CHEAPER than the factory tire in stock size.

Thanks.
They may have plastered them with silicone spray or similar to look good after fitting and that would have been chronic until it got washed/worn off? Might have been the slippery stuff they use to get it to slide onto the rim and seal?
They come out good in reviews for the wet and with those 3 big grooves should resist aquaplaning.

They sound a really worthwhile modification for the money.

For stock wheels I'd think that 205/45-17 would be the ticket in keeping with the spirit of the car: as light or lighter, slightly smaller diameter by .4" (better acceleration), and a wider tread pattern than the stock 215/45-17 Michelin Primacy HP's. Only thing is 205/45-17's sizes are generally much more expensive than the 215/45-17 sizes.

Good looking tyres.
How are they on the road, especially in the wet?

Im currently running 225/45/17 azenis tires on my car
-crisp turn in
-good feel during cornering/ very stable/ can push pretty hard
- is 5lbs heavier compared to stock tires
-slightly sloweer acceleration but not by much (u will notice it )
-over all pretty good for pushing hard on the street but quite noisy
