Move along people!
Really? You think someone in the Scion office makes any of those calls? Anything that is available is because of Subaru in the first place (and whatever ToMoCo shoved down their throats). What Scion sells in the US is probably in an agreement between Subaru and Toyota. Anything they offer they can only offer if ToMoCo says they can. Scion isn't an actual car company, it's just a brand of ToMoCo.

Dave,

The argument people have had for the last week wasn't about how it adds to performance or how it doesn't. It's the Interior bits, and the fact that the 86 front doesn't belong on a better interior equipped BRZ.

it's

"I WANT THIS STANDARD and I WANT IT NOW, AND I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR IT OR I WILL RAGE ABOUT THE PRICE"

That's the basic sentiment from the Scion Hater Mob. The cars are all the same made in a Subaru Factory performance wise aside from suspension they should be entirely the same.

it's Stupid because they're asking SCION to not be SCION. The other small percentage is asking please make it an Accessory. That is totally acceptable, and very considerate.

The definition of affordable the forum had came out with was 22k. All those stuff if standard will make the price jump, which upsets people.

+1 Every "Scion dealer" I've sent an inquiry to I've gotten a response from the Toyota dealership that the Scion lot is on.

The funny thing is, I'm all for raw cars. None of my cars even have sound deadening. ITR never had it and the GS-R's was removed when it was 3 months old.

I won't hate on minor safety (HIDs) and convenience items though... for those who want them, they are there, for those that don't, well you don't HAVE to get them. I don't really see what it's such a big discussion or problem. If every model came completely basic or fully loaded then I would understand the discussion. It does seem like those who don't want the extra features are much more upset than those who don't care and those who do want them though... I just don't get it.

That's exactly it, so why are people expecting to get an 86 out of SCION. ToMoco wont give you the 86, they'll give you an FRS.

I haven't seen any posts like that from this "scion hater mob". Maybe I've just missed them or ignored them though.

Every post I do see just has comments like "Why would you need feature blah? It's a drivers car! That's stupid!" and similar stuff. If anything I see more hating on the extra features than the lack of extra features.

Sure it'd be nice to have the GT86/86 version here as I do prefer the FR-S/86 front end and do prefer bits of the "luxury" (I use that term jokingly, even with the extra features luxurious is something that this interior is not) interior...

Those who want it standard with the 86 front end are understandable IMO. Scion is failing, but I guess no one at ToMoCo ever thought that maybe it's BECAUSE of the business model? If I were ToMoCo (and Subaru allowed it) I'd absolutely offer two levels just like Subaru is doing. I'd get MORE buyers, not less. I wouldn't care about what I've done in the past when it clearly hasn't been greatly successful.

Now those who want everything, and CF roofs, and blah blah blah for 22k.. well you just ignore those people as they clearly don't understand how a business works.

it's not to bad of a topic. i don't really give 2 shits about push button starts i just want to know (at risk of making another subject to go off topic on) if and when a turbo kit comes out if i can mount the gauges there for some sleeper status but keep a head unit in the dashboard.
