* to solve this you break it down one more step into chapters. For example: SFV, IE, SD...

Everyone gets a sticker and maybe each sub region has a specific color

Example: DTLA/Metro area gets blue/silver, Valley gets black/red...

Membership: obviously we want to keep the cost as low as possible for the stickers. However as the club grows so will peoples expectations of the available merch they can buy.

For example: If you want club shirts an easy way to go about getting some is to have each member buy a d ickies button up shirt in color of choice.

The shirt will be given to the person in charge of merch for your area. They will then give it to the head SoCal merch rep, or whomever can get the best deal on embroidering. Said person will be able to give the club file to the shop to embroider the shirt. Does it cost more, yes but at least you will get nice shirts out of it. It used to cost a total of about 30 for this back in 2000.

Leadership: breakdown of the central club roles should be more of as a boardroom and not political.

However, Each chapter will have their own:

Pres
VP
Treasurer
Merch Rep (this will never be the same person as the treasurer)
**the bottom two can be combined with either one of the top two if membership is low in certain areas. Ex: Pre/merch rep and VP treasurer**

Central Meeting of leaders will take place at least once a year. This meeting should be held at the end of one of the large meets that gathers all of the chapters.

The first meeting should have a vote for chairperson. The chair will basically be elected to organize the meeting and to keep things moving. There will also be a secretary involved so that there can be an agenda and so that important articles are addressed and noted for future meetings. Meeting notes will be emailed to chapter president and VP for follow up with area members.

This meeting will also be open to ALL members of the club. However, ONLY the Pres/VP will be able to vote on any measures that are brought to vote.

Meets each chapter can set up their own meets as they see fit. The larger SoCal chapter will have one every 3 months.

Attendance is not mandatory for all of the large meets but will be required in the more local chapters and you must attend at least 1 Large meet per year. This will help keep the club active at the lower levels and hopefully help get more people involved with the larger ones.

I'm sure I'll add more to this as things move along but hopefully it helps you guys see what is needed to run an organization.

Also, please be aware that as a club you will have cars that are built for show, track and some that are just daily drivers. Please do not alienate anyone just because they cannot or wish not to have cf parts or body kits as that will be the down turn of the club. if you want to set up more divisions such as show, track you can do so and still have fun with other car owner/enthusiasts.
After reading it... the words "chapter" make it sound like this is going to be a gang. Lol

haha. Even though its an appropriate word for some reason.. it sounds like a gang thing. :P

Who is from San Diego on this thread? Lets get the ball rolling on this. I agree SOCAL is too large to cover with one club, hell nobody is going to want to drive from SD to Irvine for a 1 hour meet. So i agree we need smaller chapters of a SOCAL group. At the very least PM me or reply here and lets set up a SD meet. A drive to Julian would be fun, or just meet up some where.

Mid-Alantic has a nice looking sticker. I think they ran them in 3" and a few different colors. Even down to location, lower right corner of the back window.
I like it since it provides all the important info like website & region in a small clean design.

or, maybe a design like this one but on the windshield like Vegas is doing. Text rotated to read down and the "O" a little smaller.
