This is a modders platform anyways, people are replacing stuff the day they get the car.. so its not the extra bum thermostat that going to make or break it.

The 7 year warranty is nice tho.
Very true. Everyone has their own reasons for picking their particular twin. The reason why I wanted those features is because this is my DD, I hate how cloth seats give you static shocks in the winter, and I had heated mirrors in my RSX, so it's a feature I wanted to keep. The seat warmers are more for my gf...haha.

I was originally hoping that the FR-S would have a leather seat option because I didn't want a crappy GPS unit....more stuff to break and be outdated. The second they announced that there wouldn't be, I knew I had to get the BRZ AND the Limited version because the Premium version didn't have them either. #1 thing for me was really the seats.

I have a feeling at autox I might be frustrated with choosing the BRZ over the FR-S. But I do drive it most days and the creature comforts are worth it for me.

Brz is awesome for AutoX. If you want it to spin easier, just grab a big rear sway bar.

I have to think the FR-S springrates and slightly lower weight without my limited trim would be better, but I'm sure either way it will be a lot more fun than my WRX was. So far I just have r-comp tires, waiting till after this weekend to figure out what I want to do for a sway bar. I'll know Sunday.

Dude, the only thing I was missing was good tires. It's really all you need. The difference in lbs is so minimal between the frs and brz you wont notice it.

I went with a Perrin 22mm rear with spherical end links. A bit overkill but I like the adjustability if I'm ever feeling froggy.

I'm definitely not a good driver but for someone that is, to get every last tenth out of the platform the FR-S would be best. But like I said, I'm daily driving it most of the year and I'm getting old enough to appreciate the extra refinement of the BRZ. And I can still read the nonsense on NASIOC.

1. I have 06 STi and it needs a Subaru next to it
2. Don't like Scions
3. Much better equipped especially on the Limited trim for what I paid.

1) Had a 4th gen Legacy GT for over 7 years and absolutely loved that car.

2) Don't like Scion as much.

3) Prefer the BRZ front (understated and pretty IMO)

4) The BRZ Limited option is actually good for the price... almost seemed like a no-brainer to me.

5) Subaru has a special place in my heart. <3

I test drove both and went with the BRZ because I:
  • Wanted push button start/entry, touchscreen, HIDs, and LEDs... and I decided that getting all that along with leather, navigation, auto climate, heated seats, heated mirrors, spoiler, and fog lights was worth the extra $3k.
  • Prefer the silly plastic faux aluminum trim in the BRZ to the silly plastic faux carbon fiber trim in the FRS/GT86 (and overall I prefer the BRZ's slightly more subtle interior).
  • Though I don't mind Scion (since it's just a subsidiary of Toyota), I like Subaru a bit more.

I got the brz honestly because I'm completely biased on subies had 05 sti so I just had to go with the brz. Another reason that I will always standby is that I would rather take my subaru motor to a subaru dealership for warranty work rather than a Toyota dealer. Not to mention better factory options.

Well, they are HIDs, which are much preferred, and there is the sexy 'boomerang' around the outside. Just a looks thing, really. Fog lights on the BRZ are also nice.
