Oil for the track

Ok before I get flamed here I have already searched and couldn't find the specific answer I was looking for. So here goes I will be taking my car back to the track soon I don't have an oil cooler yet I've been running the Toyota 0-w20 I'm thinking of going with either amsoil 0-w30 or a redline 0-w30. I will be tracking at Laguna Seca 20 minute sessions with 30 minutes being the longest session the car has seen I'm running a catch can so I haven seen any blow by loss since my last event. I would love to get some feed back and experience from you guys and I apologize in advance if this question has already been answered and have been to ignorant to find it.

Good oil temp data for our cars is still hard to come by. There's a sensor, but it's not easily readable with the OBDII port. So, keeping that in mind, most oil recommendations involve some guesswork. The car would definitely be better protected with an oil that doesn't loose its lubricating properties at high temperature or in high mechanical shear environments. Usually these are the heavier-weight oils. Right now I'm running a Motul 5W-40, and I'm expecting to get the results from my first used oil analysis on it soon. The Toyota/Subaru 0W-20 does seem to be very thin even for an oil of its rating. On my UOA of the factory fill, viscosity values were at the very low end of the range, and the oil only had 840 miles of gentle, break-in driving on it.

SUS Viscosity @ 210°F: 46.6 (Should be 46-57)
cSt Viscosity @ 100°C: 6.23 (Should be 6.0-9.7)

As far as I can tell, the only confirmed drawback to running a thicker oil (30 or 40 weight) is that fuel economy will drop (I've noticed maybe a 1mpg drop).

TL;DR: The factory oil probably isn't the best choice for running on the track. I like and use Motul, but don't have any hard data to support its use yet. I think the Redline or Amsoil will be better than the factory oil for what you do.

P.S. If you don't have any blow-by in your catch can, make sure it is connected in the correct place, check out this thread.

They do but its not the 300v series though. Motul makes some awesome but pricey stuff. Its funny because their engine oil smells like candy for some strange reason.

Motul makes a 300V 0W40.
Anyone tried it?

Also anyone has any feedback on the perf diff btw NF vs OF for day long 20/30 minute at a time session trackdays?
NF is for short springs and AutoX, while OF is for typical races. But 20/30 stunts all day long are neither here nor there. Wonder if NF has a merit for day long trackdays?

Ever been to any of the recent past 2-Stroke MotoGP races? 250's? Or 125's? You don't know if you should be watching the race or inhale deep, deep breaths, with your nose facing the sky!!!???

hmmmm?

TYPE OF USE
All racing gasoline or diesel engines, naturally aspirated or turbocharged fitted with injection (direct /
indirect) or carburetted.
For race prepared engines operating over a wide range of rpm and temperatures.
PERFORMANCES

SPECIFICATIONS Rally – GT – Short distance race
The SAE 0W-40 viscosity allows excellent oil flow into the engine at start-up and fast oil pressure
establishment while guaranteeing at hot temperature high oil pressure for outstanding protection and
faster engine revving.

ADVANTAGES
The SAE 0W-40 viscosity enables to compensate medium engine oil dilution by unburned fuel and
maintains a stable oil pressure.
Maximum oil film resistance at very high temperature: Engine wear is reduced.
Friction Modifier: Maximum power output, decrease operating temperature.
Low volatility: Oil consumption is reduced.
High shear stability: Stable oil pressure whatever using conditions.
