If you need 450hp and 450tq you might wanna buy the new vette.

It doesn't have much to do with the displacement. The VW GTI 2.0 liter turbo 4 makes 200hp and 207 lb-ft of torque from the factory. That motor can produce monster torque levels because of its lower compression and ability to run a lot more boost than we can.

Wrong. It has nothing to do with boost levels. You can run 30 psi in this motor and you would still see higher HP relative to TQ.

Because HP is derived from TQ x rpm, it has to do with where the torque is made.

Torque generated and maintained to a high red line will produce very high hp numbers.

Torque generated in the lower rpms whilst plummeting in the higher rpms (or if the engine doesn't rev high) will produce high torque numbers relative to hp numbers.

Look at this: 400 HP vs TQ in the two hundreds. Pay attention to where TQ and HP always intersect, the flat TQ curve, and the high red line.

On the flip side look at this. Look at the TQ curve and the low redline.

When it comes down to it, most likely. Unless JDL can change my mind.

Great power from that kit!

I like the lower torque numbers myself. It means the car will feel more progressive, won't require a crazy clutch, and is generally easier on the drivetrain. Big torque just breaks things.

Exactly, another example is Crawford which currently has 400hp/475tq on their BRZ with tq peaking around 4700rpm and tapering off from there, heres one of their old dyno graphs

This was the point I was getting at. Crawford's car has a lower CR and running probably over 20psi.

Awesome! Going boost after I get some wider rubber.

Any chance you have a stock dyno to overlay?
