Did you buy just the muffler section? Any vids revving or cruising?

Thanks for posting, it's hot, but I really don't like the way it looks.

It's catback (muffler + midpipe) only. The headers + front pipe would probably have run another ~$4500 usd (shipped to US).

Haven't got any better vids yet...weather hasn't been the greatest, will trying and get some up soon. =)

yea, i know the turndown tips aren't for everyone...but I wanted something a bit more 'low-key' and subtle. For me, it was all about the exhaust note itself. Personally, I'm just not all into the burnt-titanium tips; although, I'm sure ones like Amuse would still be 1st rate in terms of overall welding/quality build.

I am SERIOUSLY considering purchasing this exhaust.. have been in contact with Mark at BP Auto.

Sorry to barrage you with questions but outside of the AF videos I have not been able to find ANYONE who has purchased this exhaust.

1. How loud would you say it is? Idle vs WOT.
2. Does it come with silencers?
3. How easy was the install?
4. Did you get a weight of the muffler section?

Thanks so much. I just want to get as much info as possible before I drop an exorbitant amount of money on an exhaust. I don't mind the dolphin tale exhaust (I liked the J's racing ones for the S2000).. the sound alone has had me drooling over it since I first saw the video.

No worries, glad to help =) Yeah, according to BP...I was the first to purchase, so I don't mind helping out fellow forum members with questions where I can assist. The thing I've kept in mind is that AF is a track-focused company and their products/collaborations mirror this ideal, e.g., PCR suspension, Power-Craft exhausts, PFC brakes, T-man bros oil, etc. Hearing this exhaust for the first time gives you the instant feeling that this is something special, begging to be taken to the track and let loose. Not sure how else to describe the feeling, but when you turn the key and you hear the exhaust note for the first time...any qualms about the $$ purchase instantly dissipate.

Re.1 - At start/idle (warming up) is kind of a low grumble/grunt - my friend thinks it's a bit loud. At normal idle, it's more subdued. WOT - it becomes an absolute beast, like the 'cocaine bear' =)

Re.2 - No silencers included (not even sure how you'd install one with the turn-down tips). Resonated mid-pipe and 2-piece muffler section (connected by locking bands). Second set of locking band to connect the muffler section to the midpipe.

Re.3 - Straightforward install, everything lines up with the hangers and flanges @ front pipe accordingly.

Re.4 - Sorry, didn't get a weight on the muffler section

I have to ask how much you paid, and if you know what the cost would be on the complete system here in the us? I'm very jealous

It's pretty pricey.. each component (exhaust, mid pipe, and header) costs around $2k+ each.

If money was no object I would send Hytech a blank cheque and tell them to call me when they're done.

Figure the catback (muffler + midpipe) is about $2500 landed + inland shipping. Add in the Frontpipe + Headers and you're looking at an additional $4500. Perhaps you save a little bit(?) when purchasing all together, but I can't say for certain as I only purchased the catback portion. FWIW, Auto Factory doesn't/hasn't released an 'overpipe' solution for this application.

Auto Factory's exhaust (read: muffler) and midpipe are sold together, so it's a catback solution. The Front-Pipe (w/catalyzer) and Headers can be purchased separately or together; although, I don't see any real combo savings...at least according to their website.

The Milltek sounds just about right for me. Deep, mature exhaust note with no hint of rice

The Milltek full system is a bit expensive at 77k (US$1,900) but it's a full system which includes the overpipe and secondary cat delete pipe and the price includes installation. Orange showed me dyno charts of a customer's car before and after the Milltek exhaust, there was a 9whp gain. Will get mine dynoed as well when I have my exhaust installed.
Agree. Plan on getting the same. Was initially set on blitz but I think milltek beats it looks and sound wise. They are just about same price here in the ph.
