I hope they turn out to be good pads. The fronts actually have a little less contact area than the OEM pads and that does not thrill me:

But, they cost a lot less than DS2500's and Hawk pads are SOOOO noisy on the street.. I figured I would give these a shot and see how they do. They come with nice backing shims too. I'll give a review once i get them on and bedded in.

The pads themselves look smaller than OEM. You sure they will fit? And yeah...I drive like a Grandpa now..lol. I'll see you around sometime.

They fit, I went ahead and installed the fronts while i had everything apart for the line and fluid swap.. I should have the proper rears in the next day or so.

There is less pad material in contact with the rotor until the pads are 1/2 gone. But the backing plate is the same size as stock.

Scheduled my first dyno session for Thursday the 14th. I've been doing as much reading as I can on Homogeneous Direct Injection and looking over all the DI maps in BRZedit in preparation... I have a few things to try out relating to altering the ratio of DI to PFI etc.. Hope I get some good results

Just did my first oil change in preparation for the dyno session in the AM. Right at 730 miles. I went with a Subaru filter (From SOG) and Penzoil Platinum 5w-30. After staring at BITOG forum for an hour or so I decided on Penzoil Platinum or Motul 300v and since I don't have time to get the Motul before i hit the rollers in the AM.....

I haven't been this nervous about tuning a car in a LONG time. Hopefully I will have some good results to post up after lunch tommorow!

This was the last dyno tune i did for one of my cars:

Stock intercooler was on it's knees from the upgraded turbo and cosworth cams or it would have continued the smooth arch to redline instead of falling flat.

SO, i got the car opti-coated and have been spending a lot of time trying to figure out why my WOT AFR's kept moving all over the place....

Turns out most of the subbies i tuned in the past had the simpler closed to open loop transition setup. This ecu is very similar to the newer wrx's and LGT's.. there are at least 10 different tables that affect the transition from closed to open loop.

Whats been happening is the ecu stays in closed loop for extended periods of time and builds up a long term trim that then gets applied to WOT... so what used to be 12.8:1 with zero trim easily becomes 12.1:1 with a +5% long term trim. The situations that seemed to cause the trims to stack up the quickest are light throttle mid to high rpm, like of you are geared down waiting for a slow car to get out of your way or an opportunity to pass on the left...

Should have it sorted in short order now that i understand what the tables do and what works on other cars.

I sold off some of my remaining ralliart stuff yesterday and ordered an FA20club CAI and Nameless catted over / front pipe.

I also found another dyno shop to use, I felt like ballanced overcharged me a good bit so i don't plan on going back to them if i can help it. I'm gonna try to finish up the stock tune this saturday in preparation for the new parts next week hopefully

I'll post up some maps after the dyno session saturday.

How is the BRZEdit tuning coming along?

Have you gotten to bed in the Yellowstuff pads yet and play around with them? I'm interested in your feedback on those pads.

BRZedit is going well, I have had to rescale my maf on the stock intake... not sure why but it kept wanting to stack up +5% - +10% long term fuel trims that were killing my tuned AFR at wot.

Just installed my nameless catted front / overpipe the other night... waiting on my FA20 CAI.. should be installed today or tomorrow if it shows up in time. I have an order in for a nameless 3" offset axleback as well.... but that is going to be a couple weeks before it ships.

Depending on how the fueling looks with the CAI i may try and get to the dyno for a quick power pull and adjustment to see where the power is wit the front pipe and the CAI.

EBC's are being returned.. DS2500's will be in this week. The Folks that supply FT86-SpeedFactory messed up the order on the rear pads twice.. first set was a miss labeled box second set were the wrong part number... The Guys at FT86-SpeedFactory were nice enough to give me a full refund and order me some DS2500's.

It's a shame because the yellows feel great on the front, good cold bite, low noise, didn't fade on me when i took it to the mountains etc.... they do dust a LOT though.

The guys at speed factory are going to stop carrying them most likely because the supplier can't seem to get their shit together.
