I love how vortech tried to sell the "low torque" as something you want lol.

Let's try to keep this thread about AVO. We all know what happened with the "other" kit, lets move on and not do the same.

I, for one, think it's educational to see overlays. There are advantages to each system and the more we know, the better it is for everyone.

Oh definitively agree, and moreso with the overlays that had already happened. Just saying it will roll downhill form there at comparison after comparison just trying to prevent that. If it happens it happens Thanks for the overlays, very informative.

Agreed. But only when it's an apples to apples comparison. Anything else is noise and dis-information. At best, it confuses people who really don't know any better, and creates popular misconceptions.

BTW, you forgot to put "very rough" disclaimer on your photoshop edits.

There are instances in drag applications where SC units would be beneficial - generally speaking. Vortech has a long standing and reputable history with their quality builds, though I've yet to see anyone question the issue of them using it on a 2.0L platform as opposed to a >4.0 - 6.0L where their SC kits really shine. IMHO, that's probably why a smaller pulley providing more boost was fabbed up as part of an offering from the competition.

Regards!

Oh they aren't edits at all. I simply normalized both axis and let the curve fall where it may. While different dynos read differently, the shape of the curve is beneficial in informing everyone how the cars may react.

If you want to think about something interesting.

A stock 2011-2012 sti puts down 250-260 wheel HP and weighs around 3300 pounds

This AVO stage 2 kit/drift office tune puts down 250-260 wheel HP and weighs around 2800

I'll let you imagine how fast this car/kit is and how it's worth it to buy....

I bought my STi for 32000 off show room floor.

I bought my FRS for 24500 off show room floor. <- If I got an AVO kit this car would be cheaper then my 2011 sti and stomp on it day and night in the dry.

I wouldn't exactly say it will stomp it at 250-260whp, because the sti is AWD, BUT, it would be fairly close, and depending whos driving one might have the upper edge on the other. Although, I'm convinced that stage 2 will rnge anywhere from 275-300whp considering they still have the stock secondary cat in place and stock over pipe. Which in that case, the frs with a good lunch, would probably beat the STI. My brother has an EVO X, slightly modded (Turbo back with a tune) and I'm really curious how the avo turbocharged frs will conpete against it

Cheers,
Brody

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy and appreciate seeing vendors posting up realistic dynos.

@Drift-Office , since looking at the dyno, I've had trouble sleeping in anticipation of the AVO arrival. Any day now I hear...

I appreciate that Bob won't throw out hypothetical dyno numbers, even though it may help sell more products. He and Paul @AVOturboworld have been very straight forward with managing my expectation of the turbo results. Very excited to see what I'll have in store in the next few weeks!

I've always been a fan of on-site tuning. There's too many variables when it comes to e-tuning / remote tuning another car in another state, much less one continents apart. Fuel considerations aside, we're talking about a FI kit here which for the most part, would be installed by different techs - thus adding yet another variable. Say the actuator tension is set incorrectly, that would certainly throw the calibration off. I'm curious though, you're in AVO's back yard, why not have them tune it?

My two cents.

Great thing about Bob and Paul...told them i was curious about getting the supercharger while having lunch together...and not once did either of them ever try to sell me on getting a turbocharger or tune from them. In fact they were discussing ideas to help me optimize my hypothetical kit...

Looking good Bob
