Your twenty five thousand dollar car will most definitely have paint issues from factory. You can always fix it with a ten thousand dollar paint job LOL.

Also keep in mind that when your car is much older (say 5 to 10 years) a car WITH orange peel will actually look ALOT better with just a wash and basic wax. Take a 2000 BMW in black VS a 2000 Mercedes (amazing factory paint) also in black.

^Agreed

It's a $25,000 mass produced car. No way the car is going to come from the factory with flawless paint. Are there better examples than others? Sure but that's the way it is. There are so many ways, resources, and products out there to correct imperfections like that.

Besides, doesn't everybody keep raving that they bought the car cause it was fun? I see everybody stick up for the car and the low power cause it's fun and then people flip out cause their sub 30k car came with less than perfect paint.

Smh

My BRZ does not have orange peel look for the most part, only on certain lower panels does any orange peel show on my car.

GBS has a very clean finish.

Well, No matter what it *Shouldn't* come like that from the factory. I guess I am on of the lucky ones, my paint came out phenomenal. I inspected the whole car 1st thing after bringing it home. Here are two shots immediately after getting Opti-Coat 2.0 applied.

*Also - just got my car last month, #7407*

I would go back to the dealership and have it re-painted if I were you... They should cover that under warranty

This is not orange peel. The paint was specifically engineered to cause the laminar boundary layer to become turbulent which will cause the separation point to move rearward resulting in reduced drag on the vehicle. It's not a flaw, it's a performance enhancer. How do you think they got the coefficient of drag so low?

While I understand what you're saying - I think you're incorrect. Regardless of how the paint was engineered, the end result on the finish is that the clear coat is smooth, and does not transmit any of the paints would-be effect.

I was kidding. Although I think some cars do use that tech on their underpans...

My WRB is relatively peel-y.

Don't give a shit. It drives marvelously
