thats part of it, but add to that being painted at different locations with different, for lack of better word, contractors...and you can have a pretty substancial difference between locations

Wonder if certain colors are more prone to it because my CSB is pretty smooth.

When I saw a WRB BRZ in person was when I knew I wanted to change my color to something else. The orange peel was terrible.

I would definitely try and get a replacement car. If you ever try to sell that people are going to assume it was repainted. It's not a WRB thing. I have had 2 WRB STi's and the paint looked great.

All of the WRB BRZ's Ive seen are similar unfortunately. Looks like the color in our production run seems to be worst for whatever reason. If its any consideration, SWP, GBS, and DGM look much better in person than the WRB does. If Subaru allows you to return the car and change your order, it would be worth looking into if the orange peel bothers you that much.

However, it is of note that SWP, GBS, and DGM still have orange peel -- any FT86 will -- but its much less visible on those colors listed above.

Quoted for truth.

Seriously guys - it's a 25k sports car. They had to skimp SOMEWHERE - ranging from crappy visors, dinky inside trunk safety releases to not that great of a paint job. Painting a car is laborious and very easy to mess up which means it takes $$$ to tighten up the process and that is not $$$ you want to pay for this car.

You received the car and signed off on it - if their own inspector says it is within factory spec, you are SOL.

I'm just being honest - brutally honest but honest.

Most new car come with orange peel, my new bmx had more orange peel then the bumper that I had to repaint because my wife side Swype the house. When I use to work for the Mercedes deal shop, the repaint come out more smooth the OEM paint so they have to repaint n give it some orange peel affect..

Some color are more notice then other. Now I work for a crappy shop, some the painter suck, n paint look like shit with dirt i'm it all the time, n they blame it on the body guy
