I was told that some doctor in LA bought it and couldn't stand to drive it in traffic as a daily driver, so he turned it in and bought a Volvo at the same dealer.

I lucked out finding a buyer for my STI and a used BRZ at the same time. Limited with 6700 miles for $25,xxx. Kind of high on the miles, but who cares. My STI has nearly 70,000 miles and not one hiccup that wasn't covered by the warranty.

I bought my used WRB BRZ Limited manual transmission here on the forum with all options for $26K from another member. The car had 800 miles on it.

Personally, I'd wait. You are investing a lot in this vehicle. I think it's best not to settle.

Just my opinion though

They put a stupid mark up on the new car, and now they have a stupid mark up on the used one. I'd like to find that 'doctor' and punch him in the mouth for paying that stupid mark up and making it harder for the rest of us to find a fair price.

As for your situation, grab 10 friends on a weekend. Have each friend go in to look at the car, ask questions, test drive and talk to the sales manager about pricing. At first the sales manager won't budge on the price. Tell your friends to walk out either laughing at how ridiculous the price is or storm out angry about the lack of good business skills. After your 4th or 5th friend goes in, the dealer may come down a little on price. By the time all 10 friends have gone in "ready to buy" and walked out, the dealer might be a bit nervous so when you go in, a 26K dollar offer might look pretty good.

That sounds like a HORRIBLE way to spend a Saturday. Just my personal opinion.

A brand new BRZ Limited w/ diffuser costs $29,014. This used model is a whopping fourteen dollars less? Clearly the dealer is full of itself.

Save yourself a headache, let your fingers do the walking, and find a dealer who knows what time it is.

I'm curious what you guys would think a more reasonable price would be for it. Kinda tempted to make an offer if they can negotiate. They sold it to the first owner with a $4k markup.
i would offer no more than $25 k can buy 'em here all day long around $27,250.00
which is invoice for a brz limited.

+1. I find nothing wrong with dealerships asking above MSRP if people are dumb enough to pay for it. As long as there are enough chumps willing to pay, this will continue. The solution? Don't pay over MSRP.

Well, this 'doctor' paid MSRP. Don't believe anything a salesman tells you. Most 'doctors' I know understand what a dollar and hard work are worth.

Well...if you pay their asking price, please forget there were a previous owner of this car and please brainwash yourself with all the fun miles that you could have drove on that 1600 miles.

Why bother when you can get new for that price if you're willing to be patient. For reference a lot of dealership owners bought these for themselves and drove them for a bit then put them on the used lot. If you run the VIN it was probably registered to the dealership. Not the same thing as a demo though.

Silver Limited at the dealer that sold me mine $28k: http://www.centersubaru.com/new/Suba...4e4394e9d1.htm

I got my BRZ Limited SSM for $28K flat, New w/6miles on it with all options(including the stupid fuel door sticker). While I was still looking I was quoted 29k to 33K. I'd keep looking, all over the country if possible and be prepared to fly, you will still save money.
