A bit cramp interior, but in my opinion, a cool vehicle. Just wish they had would have given it the nice extras like they did with the Cobalt SS... boost gauge, Brembo brakes up front, 18" forged aluminum alloy wheels, grounds effects, etc.

It's a bad ass car...back in 2008.
I had a red line and man it was a quick car. The turbo was really good, 17 psi without the upgrades.

I figure this car could have been a real contender had it gone through one major revamp to add the following:

Upgraded interior
Power fold roof
6 sp manual (crappy 5 was all they had)
Club package wheels
Cooled Seats (convertibles should always have cool seats if you live in the South!)

Kappa platform, 4 years of production, 5spd high power version w FI option, american 2 seat 'vert. On an autox course thesee bad boys are sub zero. I see them fetching a pretty penny as 'classics' in 40 years. For some reason this is the car no one seems to compare to the twins?

Pontiac Solstice GXP coupe.... oh gawd.

One of my ex's father had one of these, not bad. Stock sound was kinda bad, auto took a while to shift by the sound of it. Not bad.

Cool.

The coupe version is nuts, look up prices on eBay.

I would say they were more rare... especially the factory force induced versions.

LNF engine is pretty nice. The GMS1 upgrade is what gives its 290HP/340TQ. All under factory warranty too. Just never understood why the GXP and Redline got more power than the Cobalt SS with the turbo upgrade.... My guess is due to the loss in the powertrain due to RWD versus FWD /shrugs

Wouldn't mind owning a Sky Redline with the GXP hard top cover

I've seen them before while driving in my MR2 and I always thought they must be slow because they look really ugly and scrubby. Guess I was wrong, my car is show and no go, those things are actually fast.

im not really on board for rarity translating to coolness. also i dont know if it has been brought up but despite its size, the turbo versions are over 3000 lbs. i think thats pretty significant.

Yea, but with the power output, it is somewhat irrelevant seeing as it does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Granted, I think this car was designed more for straight performance than cornering like the twins.

The Saturn Sky was my first specific dream car when I first saw it at the NY international auto show back when I was around 16-17. I still think it looks badass whenever I see one on the road. It's usually driven by guys that look like they're in their late 50-60s though.
