i think its pretty awesome, and im pretty damn impressed. Also considering some of the average time attack race build records set was in the 55:00-1:05 range. 52:649 being the fastest record set on a 800hp/2100lbs S15. All of them boasting similar weight and more power than the GT86 Griffon. Like the Supernow FC managed 57sec using 500hp/2300lbs on a full track build for Tsukuba.

Im just saying even with 2200lbs-2300lbs the GT86 is still using stock engine stock ECU, with nearly nothing touched other than headers and exhaust. Im VERY impressed seeing as how the record Open N/A is held by ASM s2000 300hp/2127lbs @ 59.9 I.. I truly believe that the GT86 or BRZ could be the next record holder for the Tsukuba N/A in the very near future.

2. Nissan GT-R 1:00.73 550hp / 3827lbs
3. Nissan Nismo R34 Z-Tune 1:01.15 500hp/ 3527lbs

5. TRD Griffon GT86 1.01.87 200hp / 2000-2400lbs

I'm confused. What is this list? Top 4 ranking cars record of what class, cause there are cars in the 50sec lap times at Tsukuba.

**edit, nvrmd, someone posted on it.

I understand that, and from what i understand the Griffon will be available for purchase in the future (at least all the featured parts). Wouldn't that making it technically production vehicle like Nismo 400R or R34 Ztune, since its only replacement parts and no altercations to the chassis?

If anything, i think slicks could have been too much grip for 9.5 wide wheel on stock power.

Yes, they are exactly like the Defi's except TRD branded which makes it uber sexy. I was just searching and everything I'm coming across says they are discontinued.

Think I found them. I don't see a Boost gauge in the kit list though.

I'm also phenomenally impressed and really surprised that others are unimpressed. Yes the car is on race slicks, but you don't match or even beat full blown time attack cars on a stock motor and similar weight by just adding race slicks. That just doesn't happen. Well not unless you're trd apparently. Btw that asm car actually made 350ps at the crank and had to be warmed up for 20 minutes every time you started the motor right? The trd griffon is a beast!

The good thing to come out of all this is that although we can all see aftermarket parts we don't like there is such a huge range available that we could all (given suitable funds) create our perfect 86. I don't think I know of any other car that has had such a huge range of replacement/upgrade parts available.

As for those putting down the TRD 86's lap time, saying that the tight, twisty track suits the 86 better than the Ferrari, etc. what do they really want this car to excel at; red light drag racing? Motorway top speeds? Because, for me anyway, there's no better legal, street driving experience than pushing a car hard and fast along one of those 'perfect driving roads'.

That is a great field of cars to be compared to... On a side note the R35 GT-R is impressive at full weight...
