I think he's just asking forum members when they tend to reset it. He doesn't need help with anything. He's just curious.

Car says I'm getting about 29 mpg. Phone app, and correct, is about 27 mpg.

I guess if I reset it since its getting low, and that keeps happening, maybe the lower number is the correct one?

I've never reset the B tripmeter, because I'm still amused that my odometer and tripmeter are the same value even with 4 digits.

SQUIRREL!
lol i havent reset my B trip either... should hit 10k miles this week.
I reset my avg everytime I fill since I use fuelly and keep a log on actual avg vs the car's avg. The car avg is typically overestimated by 1-2 mpg.

It makes sense to reset if you make a significant change to something that affects your fuel economy. It could be a change in your regular drive routes or driving habits, change in fuel type, changing your air filter, mods, etc. If you don't reset after you make changes like these, then the running average becomes skewed/misrepresented by your older ways of consuming fuel.

Reset average MPG when at cruising speed on the highway. Maintain 39.0-41.0 mpg for 25 miles @ 64-71mph on 89 R+M/2. Amidoingitrite?
