I got extremely lucky. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the day after Black Friday, and I convinced my wife to come test drive a manual firestorm FR-S. I told her that we were just test driving because I'm on an order list with a 2 month wait time for a manual Argenta. I go out there, test drove it, and then the salesman looks up some incoming FR-S's for sh!ts and giggles. As it turns out there were 2 coming in. The Argenta was spoken for but the Asphalt one was not.
I was willing to settle for the asphalt. I mean its only a darker shade of grey right?!??!?!?As we were processing my deposit, appearently the guy that was getting the Argenta was initially settling himself becuase he really wanted the Asphalt. Long story short, I drove home my Argenta FR-S that Tuesday 11-27-12.

I feel your pain! I hate my life! My FRS is supposedly at the dock somewhere in Long Beach, but the fleet manager that is supposed to be giving me play-by-play updates on my car caught a bad cold over the weekend. (what an asshole) jk jk
I cope by playing Gran Turismo 5 XL. For some reason the FRS was a free download whereas the BRZ was a $1 download, wtf? Some of the GT86 prototypes were free with the game though. It is even a great car to drive in GT5XL! |

It seems like your 86 sickness just started. These are some common symptoms of the early infection and it is far from over yet. Soon you will call all the dealers in the country to try to get one sooner and pay extra...buying all the parts when you don't even have it...and reading and following this forum more than fb or your own email. Losing focus at work and dreaming driving the car becomes a daily thing.
But wait until you get the car, then the stage 2 infection will only get worse... |

Let me help take the edge off.
Just pick up or look at this beauty for the next 8 months if it does not change your sexual orientation first at least it will make you feel more relaxed. America's Best

Do you have a PS3? Months before the Toyobaru was released, members on this forum had monthly GT5 time attack competitions requiring a stock 86. My skill improved hugely (I used to suck at GT5) and virtually driving my future car hard kept me sane for months, seriously! I think it helped keep everyone sane because the anticipation was running high. It was like channeling pent up energy from anxiously waiting over into competition. Not sure if the competition threads are still going now, though, but maybe it can pick back up for others who are in the same boat as you.

both auto and manual are "6 speed" transmissions. too many people making this mistake thinking 6spd means manual. /rant |

I fully appreciate good sarcasm but even with my extensive grasp of the English language I struggle to find a word that adequately describes your post and people like you that doesn't stray into the realm of profanity. Congratulations Captain Obvious! /rant |

I know how you feel.
I think the 8 months is an over estimate though and you will get your car sooner. Look on the bright side though. The longer you wait, the less problems you will have as they are more likely to have been fixed at the factory.

WTF? You're in Australia and you're settling for an FRS when there are perfectly good nitro cars to cruise the desert, attacking random nomadic tribes in your ever constant search for fuel with your marauder friends?!

Wait til your car comes to the dealer and stays in the back lot for three days until they have time to clean it up.
It was painful!
