I know it's off topic, but shout out to the stealth foams in the first pic.

Unfortunate for you man, but you should have filed a report at the scene. You made everything harder on yourself.

Not filing a police report means your insurance company will not treat it as a hit and run, but as a collision. You really need to file a report, if its not too late.

Think about it, if your hood is bent in half and still latched to the car then the latch went with it. The latch is attached to your radiator support which went with the hood. Guarantee that a new hood won't line up with a straight replacement. You will need a frame machine to pull that back to where it should be.

Remember, you always get what you pay for. Unless its just your deductible then you get more than you initially pay for...

This. So much this. I remember when I rear ended someone and had similar damage on a car worth $3000 it was a total loss with around $4500 of damage, no airbag deployment.

@track1records This is a comprehensive claim not a liability claim. Your insurance rates and driving record will not be affected. What are you concerned about?

Probably because it was not a hit and run but he hit something and does not want to admit it. That is honestly the only reason I could see for not wanting to use insurance.

Real talk, that's really what it sounds like. When my car got keyed the first thing I did was look up my deductible and immediately got some estimates. Thankfully, I was able to get my car repaired for $1,500 and I never had to pay a dime.

If this was truly an accident the insurance company should step up and help out...either this person does not have insurance or hit vtec hella hard and rammed into something.

I'm not going to spread rumors based on speculation and guessing, but the pictures were not taken at the scene of the accident.

First of all he is parked at what appears to be a crosswalk, there aren't many explanations for a car backing up through an intersection. Also the damage is way more than just underestimating the distance while parking so the driver must have hit the gas instead of the brake and gotten it up over 15mph.

Second, there are a few things missing that should be there if this were the scene of the accident: right side marker, fallen pieces from the license plate cover, and front tow hook cover.

Were there any witnesses? If anyone saw a blue Lexus ISF in that area that day then I might know who hit your car

Maybe someone else thought they were dorifto king and flew through the intersection? Then they took the towhook cover and license plate border as souveniers.

I try to think people are generally honest but yeah, I was thinking the same thing as far as the source of the damage. Time will tell.

Or it won't. The OP has fallen silent for some mysterious reason...

^agreed, may I add to the OP slow the F down! And stop trying to show off. Guarantee that the damage is self inflicted unless someone has a grudge against him. And judging from the at fault pic, that appears to be excessive damage for " city speeds".....just saying

Yeah. The other side of it though, is that it doesn't look like the airbags deployed and any impact large enough to break the foam bumper should have set off the airbags if the ignition was on.
