right now, lease and buy rate are pretty close in canada (well, in quebec) but still, in 4 years, maybe you will be stuck with a higher rate when you will buy back..

as for the upgrade... why would they charge it to you... they are yours... if something, they would maybe cover a part of the damage you could have done to your car if you give it back to them. (as extra value, but not that much)

and... if you hope a 25 000$ car, will still worth 20 000$ when it's 4 years old... you dream a bit to much...

For me with the interest rates as low as they are I was able to buy mine with $2700 down and am only paying $385 for 6 years.

There is no way that in 4 years a $25,000 car will still be $20,000. That is only a 20% depreciation over 4 years. Even as popular as these cars are they will not hold value like that. Most cars loose 20% in the first year.

According to standard depreciation a 4 year old $25,000 car will loose $9,300 to $14,700 in value. $9,300 is considered the "low" depreciation. Even if you give the FRS a bump for popularity of like $1500 you are still at $7,800.

With luck your FRS will be worth about $17,200.

Your buyback price in your lease is a fixed number it is not related to the condition of the vehicle. If you turn the vehicle in in poor condition they can charge you penalties.

You will not get any credit from the leasing company for your aftermarket parts, in fact they will most likely deduct from the value if you turn it in with them on.
