Car Care products
Hi Guys,
We don't have a thread that I can find which suggest the type of products we use on our cars, so this can be for that purpose. I have been using Meguiars products and noticed that there is mention that there products can't be or not recommended on Matt or Satin type paint finishes. Sent a mail to them to get clarity and here is the response. Hi Ryan Thanks for the interest in our products. I have checked on info we have received from Meguiar's HQ regarding Matt finished products and can report that it is from a manufacturers opinion that only non-waxed based products be used on Matt finished vehicles. This would be Gold Class Shampoo and Conditioner, Deep Crystal Car Wash and Soft Wash Gel. Any products that have a wax base will create a gloss. It does not state if it will be a permanent gloss or just temporary. Quick detailer can also be used for detailing purposes. Please be advised that this info is based on Wraptivo Automotive body wraps and factory Matt finished BMWs. If your car has an aftermarket wrap or Matt re-spray differences in results may occur. I would best advise to test a product on a small area before using on the entire vehicle. If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to call me on 0829051480 What brands are others using that is quality. |

Unless you went to a bodyshop to give your car a matte finish, Meguiar products will be sufficient for your paint finishing. Its only when you have non-glossy/smooth paint that you should find specialty matte/satin cleaning products.

I used to be a fan of Meguiars products until I found Adam's products.
http://www.adamspolishes.com/ Simply brilliant and easy to use. I've bought the Essentials kit: http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-99-ad...etail-kit.aspx which includes pretty much anything you could possibly need.

You can buy it locally from www.crazydetailer.co.za
With the buttery wax you can pretty much apply and remove it in less than 45mins, that's how awesome it is. I've been using the same bottle of shampoo for the last 4 years and I wash my car every weekend. That stuff is extremely thick and lasts forever.

I have used AutoGlym products for years and find it to be far superior to Meguiars Gold Class. Have already polished my 86 and very happy with the results. I've also got some Zymol which I brought back from the states in October - will let you guys know how that goes....

Urgh... too much effort.
I just take my car to the car wash. We have some good car washes here in CT that wash with quality products and care. |
