What about Project Mu HC+800's? Those look like a good hybrid pad and seem cheaper compared to similar pads in that range. Anybody used them?

I think ds2500s are my next pad.

I have HPS now and I guess they're ok, I just have never really liked them on any car that I've had them on.

Fine for AutoX IMO. Perhaps Carbotech AX6 might be cheaper and just as useful for this application.

I'm wondering about brakes also...I can't pick a pad!

What about rotors? Anyone upgrading rotors too or just leaving them stock?

Nothing wrong with stock pads for autocross, IMO. The AX6s dust a lot and do squeal occasionally. If I go with different pads I'll go with Carbotech 1521s. No noise and not a huge amount more dust than stock.

Rotors are free as long as they are the same size or bigger (no running bike brakes to reduce weight).

No or minimal advantage with slotted/drilled whatever, may even be a disadvantage, less surface area for braking, high brake temp isn't a large issue autox to make the 'pad gasses' a good argument. Some BBK's are lighter which would be the only reason to change imo, but the savings are in the calipers not the discs (OE is cast iron vs. Aluminum aftermarket)

I'll be sticking with OE style blanks for the foreseeable future.

Anyone looking for wheels?

17x9 Kosei K6Rs are on closeout at TireRack for $676/set.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...3&autoModClar=

A little heavier than RPF1s in the same size (like 3lbs), but not bad at all. Especially for that price! I may end up selling my 17x8 RPF1s to pick up a set of these.

Good deal. I was looking to replace my dailies (old 17x8 drags) with something a bit better looking...

Will be picking up a set of the K6Rs wrapped in 245 71Rs this Saturday from TireRack!

Guess I'll find out how the Bridgestones hold up to a season of autox and a few track days. haha

Does someone want to weight a stock steering wheel/airbag setup -- you know, for science? Or have access to an uninstalled wheel?

I'm just curious how much heavier it is than a hub/QR/sparco setup.

Just like to thank you for the heads up. Been looking for something for this next season. I pick them up tomorrow with some Bridgestone.

Nice!

I actually ordered them and then changed my mind and cancelled my order in favor of waiting for a lighter wheel. Probably gonna end up with RPF1s. lol
