The weight savings that you could get by going to an all CF hood like first molding's would be a lot cheaper by taking a healthy dump before your drive. The vented hoods do serve a purpose though, they allow heat to escape the engine bay maybe not perfectly but it definitely helps a little, especially in traffic. As for the look of CF, I get it's not for everyone, I only wanted the vents and plan on painting the hood (leaving the vents CF though). I'm not a huge fan of exposed CF on the exterior of the car but for some strange reason i like the contrast on my Whiteout...of course when the car is painted i may have different feelings.
Agreed. I wish I had gone with a vented hood honestly now that it's installed. Oh well!

So you took a bunch of time to prove us all RIGHT!! Just like I said, weighs more and fits worse than OEM. The uneven gaps aren't acceptable for any car regardless of price. Lastly, you're adding weight to a car in the worst possible places..up high. This car has a very low COG so it would make sense to keep all the parts lighter, not heavier.

I appreciate your efforts but I have to say it was a major FAIL if you're trying to tell people that Seibon makes good quality parts. BTW, hope you clear coated that hood before mounting it...their clear will turn yellow in no time.

Why are you running 50lbs wheels then? 20lbs of unsprung on the rears alone which equates to sooooo much more.

Cant see how you can crap on his choice since he can take a dump and be equal to stock.

I keep OEM wheels just for that reason. When I'm DD I keep the 18s.

You must be confused...HE POSTED A THREAD ON FIT AND FINISH OF THE PARTS. I commented that they weigh more and fit worse which is in line with this thread. I know all about unsprung weight and its effect on a car but that's for a different thread all together.

Lastly, you should check the weights again on my wheels...the fronts are the same weight as OEM and the rears are 3 pounds heavier each wheel/tire. I'd say the added grip is a fair trade off.

Sigh...the OEM style Seibon hood is ounces heavier than stock, not pounds, and the vented hoods are actually lighter, by ounces. The fit is actually quite good, my gaps are even and I haven't clear coated my hood yet and lo and behold my carbon is still not yellow. Sure I garage my car and use UV protectant on my car but that's besides the point. As someone who obviously has no Seibon product on your car your opinion is noted but has about zero credibility as far as fitment is concerned. My car is a rolling testament that Seibon makes decent parts at least once in a while, since the 3 pieces I have fit perfectly (I do still need to slot the holes for the hood brackets to move it a hair forward, but that's just being overly nitpicky).

Go buy any other hood CF or FRP and tell me how your fitment goes, I've seen $2000 CF hoods with worse gaps than my $600 Seibon, so score one for me I guess.

You were selling them.

So yeah, total bs, if you still have them is more because you didn't manage to sell them.

Why did you think I said 20lbs total to the rear? As a DD, you are running that much for at least 90% of the time.

your rims are 26lbs, your tyres are also at least 26lbs, and the added weight due to your "aesthetics" choice is at a distance greater than the stock wheels which further compounds the problems with your choice...

You are more than a hypocrite. let other people have the choice of what they want and only add a few ounces. Otherwise I am sure people can also flame you whenever they realise you are running 20lbs more weight in your wheels for "tool" factor.
