I guess if you're not having any issues driving your car with gas from Feb, I wouldn't worry about it. I've just been following what ever my dad told me, which is probably old information anyway lol Quote:
It's all in maturity level. Easier to say to "drive within your ability" now that you are older and wiser vs when you've got hormones raging in your body and friends you are trying to impress. |

There is also no return line shown in that diagram which would provide the make up air to the tank. No implosion. The point was that yes humid air is drawn in through a solenoid valve while the car is operating but the system is closed when shut off. There is not a constant exchange of air going on that allows more moisture to enter and fuel to evaporate. The risk of moisture in the aircraft fuel is more related to the sudden and extreme changes in temperature from climbing and the risk of even the smallest amount freezing in the lines at altitude. Not sure just how much water people seem to think will condense in a 10 gallon tank even if left wide open for decades. I have heard this so many times on the internet but never even ran into a single tank in any of my old car restorations that had condensation issues. Metal tanks that sat empty for 20 years were bone dry and still perfect inside. The outside may be rotted to hell but the insides were like new.

Yeah. Only pointing out a (very) tiny imprecision. 8)
A dry tank won't sweat because the temperature will equalize very quickly. A half full vented tank will act as a cold sink and come up to temp only slowly on a hot day. In the twins, the amount of water vapor will be minuscule and not really something to spend time or neurons over. Until someone takes a whiz in the filler. But who would do that (sharp shufty). Fuel is less likely to break down over a long period if the surface area is only a couple square inches in the neck as opposed to several square feet in a less than full tank.
