OK. I just have to rant. I took my car in on Tuesday to get the ECM swapped out in order to turn my Dr off and still have my high beams (its a tsb). So I get a call yesterday saying that They have been on the phone with Toyota all day and didn't get it done, plus now they tell me they need my second key. So car gets kept overnight and now I'm getting told that my car won't come out of park, and will be sitting there overnight yet again. Everything with this damn car is not easy. I replaced my window after the break in an now the window control module doesn't work (windows only goes down, not up). Body shop took 3 months to get it back to me after my accident. This is why I told myself I would wait for the second year, but nooooo. Damn dealership had to have what I wanted available. Lol

Anyway, I am FRSless for the 3rd day now and am having angry withdrawals if you could tell.

Go to another dealer. They dont know what they are doing.

The ECM does not need to be changed

You just plug your car to tech stream an you can turn off the DRL

Its a 30min job

When they did that it my high beams turned into Drls when I turned them on. Then I found the tsb and my ecu is in the range.

They are idiots. They I'm not exactly sure how the Toyota (or is it Subi?) ECU code works but it sounds like they are not inputting the correct commands. I'm pretty versed with the VW or VAG codding and when people tried to disable their DRLs they'd wind up with turn signals as headlights and all sorts of crazy stuff if they were off by a hair or just flat out didn't know what they are doing.

Yeah. I don't know. When they tried it and it happened I then found the TSB. When I read it I thought it was the reason and took it to them didn't think they would around just swapping ECUs without a good reason so I trusted I had been right. Who the hell knows. I can't take it to another dealer now though since its stuck in park, otherwise I would. Damn sure am not taking it back though.

Anyone in Nor Cal have the OEM audio plus audio package? I keep hearing how good the audio is, but it's so pricey - I'm really curious to hear how it sounds in person - especially with the JL set coming out fairly soon.

Sweet! Looks like you have an ideal shaded area to detail, and maybe even some garage space too? Post up some pics after you try it out!

So it turns out the new ecu was defective. Took 3 days of working on the car to figure it out. New one gets here tomorrow. Problem is I need to be in San Jose for a Little League Umpire clinic I am teaching at. Anyone think its unreasonable to ask for a loaner at this point? I have no car for four days at least and need a way from Stockton to San Jose and back now
