The bill only comes about 14 days before its due so you have to remember right away. The phone system requires a 15 minute phone call and now wont let you pay by checking account unless you actually have a check (requires not only routing and account # but now also a check number and rejected mine when i made one up), you need your entire 12 digit account number. And you DL# too now to stop fraud.

Its a bunch of small shit that just makes it way harder then paying any other bill. I hate this city sometimes.

It's amazing how bad some payment systems still are. The only autopay option for my current apartment complex is to autopay a fixed amount every week. Of course they include certain utilities in that bill so the amount isn't the same every month. The online payment system is simple enough, but you can't setup a payment for a future date so it takes the payment as soon as you submit it.

Move west, young man.

I'm not even kidding. I'd never move farther east than Livermore. I have thought of buying a place in Willows, though, for obvious reasons.

Got around to replacing the interior lights in my Yaris (I hate warm white lights). I'll be working on the exterior bulbs next/soon.

And on my day off, I'll be installing switchbacks in the FR-S now that I got the flasher relay in the mail.

They aren't the best product out there, but the most widely used so support should be easy to find, using their little click mount for peripherals annoys me and I bypass their software completely (sd card to computer, copy mp4's, done) but for the most part nothing wrong with 'em.

iirc the base models don't allow for a microphone to be added on. For cars that kind of sucks as odds are good visuals = bad sound (either wind or cabin rattles), go up a step and make sure it's got microphone support, get a cheap like $5-$10 condensor mic with a 5ft-10ft cable so you can pick up some sweet exhaust and tire skid noises.

That's my one regret when I bought my father his, the sound is garbage, have mics in a box in the garage, but can't use them.

Yeah I looked at some random chinese/whatever "knockoffs" that are fairly highly-rated and cheaper, but I honestly just felt like I should get the more trusted brand, if anything just for the better warranty and support for add-ons.

I ended up getting a refurb Hero 4 Silver edition for a decent deal through their website, so I think it has microphone support.

Do you usually just run that condenser mic out a window or what?

Yeah I don't think I'll be using their software. I've done lots of video editing before, just not in a long time. So I should be able to figure something out on my own.

I'm super excited though. Just need my car to get here too :|

Definitely makes sense. I've seen a couple different solutions for mic placement, rear bumper seems to be common, I've also heard of putting it on the floor of the car, in the trunk, in the gas cap, even under the hood in the right spot won't pick up much wind noise.

Find a camera angle you like and just try a couple of things.
Personally I like having the camera on driver's side little rear triangle window, but on the roof and inside hanging off the rear window work OK too, fender for some tire action is nice as well.

Also, suction cup mount, you don't need to go crazy, a good 2" diameter cup should hold the camera more than well enough. When I give mine a test shake I can see the sheet metal of the car flexing before anything else.
