So I got a puncture on one of my tires over the weekend. I've taken it to a few local shops to get fixed but all have turned it down because the nail was too close to the side wall. Does anybody know why its bad to plug a puncture that close to the side wall? Note that the damage is near the inside wall of the tire (closest to the car).

I'm tempted to just buy a repair kit and plug it myself. These are just my commuting set, I'm not really too keen on buying a new one.

c'mon now, you're the engineer... why do I got to explain this to you... the transverse axial forces from lateral cornering will uhhh cavitate the Bernoulli hypotenuse inversely proportional to the Venturi articulation. Any first year engineering trade school student could tell you that!

Ahhh... How could I have missed that. Now, the real question is: tire plug repair kit or pilot super sports

So a semi truck was spewing some liquid as it traveled down 101. Got home to see tiny pink/purple sticky bumps all over my car. Washed it just now (got home past 10pm) with a pressure washer, and I can still still feel some bumps, but I want to say 95% are off. Anyone have any idea what that liquid is? No signs, names, hazardous warnings on the red/maroonish trailer. Appeared to be an agriculture type of trailer. Needless to say I'm very pissed off.

Just come to Stockton and go to a tire shop on Wilson, Waterloo, etc. They will plug it.
