I'm just shocked you would even go back after they botched your oil change and got oil all over your engine and engine bay.

Toyota dealers suck. Subaru dealers apparently suck even more. I think BMW dealerships are great, which is important because, if you own a BMW, you will spend a lot of time at the dealer.

BFL, how old is your kid? We got rid of the Integra because of the kid. However, it was only an LS automatic. Getting rid of a twin? OUCH! I'd rather get the GTI anyway, over the WRX. If you want to have a fun car, look at that. It's not oversteer city. Not like we need AWD in Cali.

I know, I'm like in a bad relationship, I keep hoping they change, but come out all bruised.

My daughter is 15 mos old and she is still rear facing (recommended until 2). Because of the rear facing seat, I basically have to load her in through the driver side. Luckily she is starting to figure out how to climb in herself, but I still have to be back there to buckle her in. I've had a 05 wrx wagon before the brz, which is why I was looking at the new wrx. Definitely drives a lot better than my blob eye. My brother also has a mk2 gti and he's been dreaming of a mk7, I'd consider getting one just to run it in his face lol

Also, former integra owner here, I miss my 97 gs-r. Kid across the street just got himself a gs, so I've been oogling from afar.

NorCal (Bay Area) OFF-TOPIC Chat Thread

Speaking of WRX I really want one! Lol. FR-S will be paid off in 10 months so if I can save more cash for a down payment hopefully I can make that happen. And yes I'm keeping the FRS no matter what car a buy next.

I'm not sure I'll like the insurance on a FR-S and WRX. Lol.

Automatics are stupid.

That is all.

Yea automatics are only for stupids. I wouldn't ever associate with anyone who drives an automatic!

I kinda want an auto DD once I retire the FR-S to racecar/weekendcar, that's why I'm so disappointed in Subaru, the CVT is so irritating to me! I can get so many other cheap(ish) compact performance cars with dual clutch autos but NOT in the car I really want!

I really don't want to buy another VW but I want a 4cyl turbo with a dual clutch auto for my next DD.

Have any of you heard of this new car battery: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/o...er-car-battery

Seems like an awesome idea, and a great way to save weight.

Very interesting. I've worked with super capacitors back in college (regenerative braking on formula SAE car), they are great for applications that need fast charge and discharge, kinda like starting a car. They are, on the other hand, not as good for long term energy storage as a good ol lead-acid battery. I guess if you daily your car, this would be a great option. If this is a weekend/toy car, I would reconsider.

I like how they work around it with LiFePo's (also very good charge density batteries) and making sure they are nice and happy with some electronic controls.

I've never been much of an early adopter (even though I have a 2013 brz ), so I think I'll just stick with my Sears special

Fair enough, I just think its an awesome idea and another example of an industry that needs a serious challenge to the status quo. Also doesn't hurt that it will shave some weight.

I bought one, even though they wont be shipping for another year at best. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work out and I swap my stock battery back in or just cancel my order.

Also, thanks for the engineering lesson
