Did some searches and it seems that it's not recommended to use the stock studs with a 5mm spacer due to the lug not having recommended thread engagement.
Seems like my options are to go with a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/5x100-Hubcentric-Spacers-Subaru-Impreza/dp/B00A7I2SU0"]generic 3mm spacer[/ame] or replace the oem studs which I didn't really want to do. Thoughts?

Every tire change (sometimes I do it twice a week) I saw metal shavings with the stock studs. I got ARP 10mm extended spacers and I never see metal shavings anymore. AKA the stock studs are weak as fuck.

I went with those 3mm spacers for that exact reason. I'm still able to get 10 turns. A 5mm would be abou 1.5 treads less, but will this really matter. It all depends on your preference. Daily driven it'll prob have no issues. I think many are using 5mm and have no issues. Driven hard enough maybe.
I've driven with only 6 threads before when I didn't know any better. Hit a pot hole hard enough to blow my tire and the studs still held. Quote:

Thanks for the replies guys. I thought I had it nailed down that 17x9 +42 would fit in the front with a 3/4" drop, but now I'm not 100% sure!
I sincerely wish I could afford coilovers, but I already have the springs so I'm a bit stuck.

I've got dents, door dings, paint scrapes, cone marks, windscreen chips, and I don't even care! I only know how to beat the effing shit out of my car is it's inevitable.
