I got 34.8 MPG to Tahoe (North Shore) and back going 70-80 the whole way! FR-S FTW!

Hasn't Robispec also shaved weight and added power to his? I've driven with a gutted trunk (with you guys haha) and I was oblivious to what difference it made.

yeah but what he says makes sense on a theoretical basis. the weight is biased to the front in this car and removing weight of the spare just emphasizes that. More weight in back (or less weight in front) would bring you closer to a 50/50 balance. Of course with a proper coilover suspension you can tweak all kinds of stuff to counter any weight imbalance.

I noticed similar effect in my MR2 Spyder which is the reverse -- weight is biased to the rear. Autocrossers (in stock class) regularly would leave the spare in the frunk to help the balance and counter the default understeer. Being super light weight though, the MR-S is much more sensitive to weight adjustments.
