I bought a used set of snow tires+rims with 60% tread left for $150...Rims are rusty (going to be plastidipped), but roll true.

You dont have to spend a fortune on snow tires if you're in a bind.

Meh after hearing how much trouble other people I know had getting around in that same blizzard I think I'm just gonna stick with what I've got unless I found a really good deal.... I guess my original post was a bit biased and unfair toward the frs... I guess being as it had been 7 years since I had daily driven anything that wasn't 4x4 or awd I wast a bit spoiled. Turns out while I had no issues out on the roads 90% of the other people 4x4's included had a harder time getting around then I did.

i suppose i'm lucky that i live in the south. we rarely get snow (which i hate that we don't) but i can roll on the summer tires year round (pretty much)

I picked up a nice set of snows and rims for $350. Need to wait for the right deal. I just saved a little bit of cash each month until november. My car expenses are above average but I sacrifice a night out or two a month so I can own this beast

The only reason I have snow tires is because I still got my stock 1st gen tC wheels with blizzaks. (leftover winter setup)
