I drove the TRD equipped FRS before deciding on my Perrin when my car was more daily driver, resonated. Now that I am doing FI, I pulled the resonator, will add a header, and keep the 2nd cat, should flo nice and have no drone.

The header will make it all louder, but shouldnt add drone

I know someone who works there, the only price they gave is $960, thats the discounted price.

How is the TRD vs HKS, Perrin, & Evo3? which one have better deep warm sound and HP gain ? I don't like high bitch tinny can sound. The evo3 has the specs on their website. I don't see the specs of the other 3 yet.

Are we talking just catback or a full headerback system?

You're going to get similar results from all the systems until you change the OP/DP combo.

I have TRD and I like it a lot. Not too loud, no drone whatsoever, but has a nice deep tone. Also built quality is very good too. Plus, you can avoid all the legal and warraty issue with TRD.
Not so sure about perrin but i have seen Evo3 and AP in person and it was a bit obnoxiously too loud.
However, HKS hipower spec-L looked and sounded even better than TRD in my opinion. They are of course more expensive than TRD.

Honestly, after reading your posts, I think you will be happiest with the tonal quality of the TRD and the Perrin. If money isnt a concern, I think you would be happiest with the TRD. I clearly feel the perrin is louder than the TRD. TRD sounds like a nice sports factory system.

Perrin sounds a bit racier, even resonated, it a bit higher pitched overall when revved than the TRD that resonates a bit more down low rumble like, but didnt feel as airy up near redline. The perrin can moves air well, and you can hear that, and the baffling inside can be 'heard' at certain RPMS, I dont know how else to say it but the Perrin sounds like a subaru, and TRD sounds like,a Toyota.

That said, I prefer the power made by my unresonated Perrin and dont feel its too loud at all, tho much louder than stock.
but for you, TRD, you'll love it. Its good quality stuff, and you know that too.

I thought the TRD exhausts sounded great at the First Drive Event. Three of them running through an autocross course sounded pretty awesome... nice deep tone but not cop-magnet loud. I agree with the "Toyota sound" thing, gem. I bought jdm 86 tips, but I think I want a TRD.

So I jumped on the TRD exhaust system. So far, I love it. The sound is very deep. It sounds much better than it sounds in the video i saw on Youtube. But I do have a question, there is a very strong burning smell and lot of smoke. Is it normal for a new exhaust system? I just got it installed few hours ago.
