I actually put the deposit down on my BRZ after my wife gave birth.

I think our Maxi Cosi base and seat (Pebble) probably won't fit, as it's already a bit tight in the back of our Legacy, but one day I may give it a go. The other thing that's stopping me is that I seem to recall the manual saying that rear-facing seats are not fine, but that front-facing ones (and even then, only up to a certain age limit, I think 3 or 5yo!) are.

I'm surprised nobody has pointed out this article yet. Its been out for a while now:

http://jalopnik.com/5928491/2013-scion-frs-will-it-baby

Also, whoever was worried about infant retinal damage....haven't you ever heard of a sun shade?

For the record, my wife is due at the end of next month (February). My child will grow up loving cars (or reviling them and making me cry when they get older.

Here's an example, http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=10

(Some posts down is the link to Amazon) Chicco Cortina Key Fit 30 system.

Front facing seats fit even better.

I have a 4 month old that uses a Graco rear-facing on the rear passenger seat. Works well, my wife 5'4 115lbs fits fine in the front, but not the best road trip setup. Exhaust sounds keeps the baby asleep though! An excuse for me to buy this was the rear seats, LOL.

This BRZ will definitely work as a family car for several years. I can't wait to get our baby in a front facing though.

Hardest part is explaining to people it IS a family car! We do have a '11 Forester XT for primary family duty.

I'm shocked that the Chicco SnugFit 30 fits in the FR-S. I have that same setup in my 4Runner and Prius v. It isn't particularly small as far as infant seats go. We did manage to fit it in the MINI once.

No experience with rear facing but for those with front facing kids at least there are lots of options and they seem to fit rather well including boosters.

Start thread jack/ as a matter of fact I have a Recaro child seat for sale if anyone is looking for an excellent, safe, child seat that is good from 18-80lbs (harness or booster mode)
end thread jack/

(sorry)

I plan on buying this car and I am looking for rear facing infant seats that fit. This will not be the main family car but will be used on occasion. Anyone have pics of the combi coccoro installed?

With 3 growings kids of my own and 2 toddler-boys nephews, I'd be more than happy to give anyone some needed supplies. New and used stuffs from cribs to clothes, to unused gift stuff. Take what you need and want. Been donating to friends since my family is done birthing kids (for the moment).

PM me to trade numbers since texting/pictures are much faster that way.

Bring your FRS/BRZ, I'm sure my ultramarine can use a friend. Live in 925 in between Dublin and Alamo.

Donation, that's up to you. For example, I've donated a 15 gallon tub full of 0-3 yrs old girls clothes to a friend. And recieved donation on $100 worth of NIP babyshower gifts for $10. Bring your expecting wife/GF, let her rummage. Goodwill/Salvation Army, we've stopped collecting receipts long ago. Craigslist, takes too long and I don't want my wife going out there.

Thanks for taking the time to read and congrats to you for welcoming a child.
People like you give me hope for humanity lol. Cheers.

This may not be helpful for you, but the only way you're gonna see if an infant seat works for you is to try it out.

I don't have any pics, but for a few weeks, I was rocking a borrowed Chico infant carrier. I don't remember the exact model, but the seat base was the same. It was JUST possible for my wife (who is 5' 6") to sit in front, but it was definitely not comfortable for her.

We also had a MaxiCosi Mico infant carrier, seat but I couldn't get the base installed in the BRZ.
